There's a problem with this challenge in that, because of the Internet, if we offer a standard line from any movie, all you have to do is Google it. :-\
If it's too obscure or general, then no one will be able to get it. :-\
You're going to have to tweak this somehow.
Thus the challenge of us as members to dig and probe. Also some integrity comes into play for those who want to join.
Lastly I'm open for alternatives you got some com padre?

Not off the top. Except that, isn't today the 27th and here on the East Coast it's 2:45. ;) :D
leave me alone!! HA
ok I meant the 28th at 2pm!!!
I think we should stick to the quote. Giving details surrounding the scene may make it too easy. Not all quotes are that easy to Google up.I think he meant the person answering would need to give the details. So you will know that they did not just google it.
I think he meant the person answering would need to give the details. So you will know that they did not just google it.Oh, ok. My bad. Thanks for the clarification.
Ok, here's my quote:
"Let me tell you the story of "Right Hand, Left Hand." It's a tale of good and evil. Hate: It was with this hand that Cane iced his brother. Love: These five fingers, they go straight to the soul of man. The right hand: the hand of love. The story of life is this: Static. One hand is always fighting the other hand; and the left hand is kicking much a**. I mean, it looks like the right hand, Love, is finished. But, hold on, stop the presses, the right hand is coming back. Yeah, he got the left hand on the ropes, now, that's right. Ooh, it's the devastating right and Hate is hurt, he's down. Left-Hand Hate K.O.ed by Love."
I want the following:
-the character
-the movie, including year of release
-the scene description
-and lastly, the significance of that line in relation to the movie as a whole.

I ain't jumping through all these hoops to become part of the film association when I was one of the first folks to ask to be down ( and my post was mysteriously ignored).
these other folks didn't have to go through no stinkin pre-test.
radio raheem
Do the Right Thing

I don't know dudes name, but he played Duh Duh Man in New Jack City
I can't remember the whole scene, but I beolieve dude was in the pizza parlor and they was telling him he couldn't bring all that noise inthe joint..... then he goes into this speech..... whatever
its all good though, Imma start my own film association.
Jlewis
You're not serious, are you? ::) This is waaay too easy. Plus, with what I know about you. :D :D ;D :DYeah, I know, determining the movie is the easy part, but my focus is finding a person who can identify the significance of that scene, and what it represented. Though that, too, is a little easy in my opinion, it helps to identify those with a discerning eye/ear as far cinema goes.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. That other part isn't a part of the challenge. J31 set the criteria for the challenge. Your last part is subjective, I believe and thereby, hard to judge. :-\Tell me do you know, Do you know what time it is, Check the box. Tick tock tick tock
I could be wrong, though.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. That other part isn't a part of the challenge. J31 set the criteria for the challenge. There can be different interpretations, and sometimes the discussions about the interpretations is what gives life to/ or continues the life of a work of art. While it may not have been a part of the original criteria, don't you think it's important for members to be able to intelligently discuss the films?

In this case, however, I don't think there can be too many variations in the importance of that dialogue, but I could be wrong.
Of course, the members should be able to discuss films intelligently. But again, how would we judge the applicants. By how well they defend their position?I thought this one was to simple to have to worry about it. However, if you feel so strongly about it, let's strike the quote and the requirements I set. I'll get another.
Here's my quote:
"Is this a test?" "Isn't everything?"
Here's my quote:Hey, you keep changing the quote!
"Are we negotiating?" "Always."

Again easy... Thats ya boy constantine, same dude that played in the matrix ( Neo). The movie is the Devils Advocate.
You woulda did better with " God is an absentee Landord"
Jlewis
How about I saw your movie, THIS MORNING!! :o :o :o :o :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D :DYou're one of the few people that actually reads my posts. :D That's actually why I posted that quote. Hey, anyone that can adequately discuss my favorite all-time movie is ok in my book!
Dude, I was bustin' a gut when I read your quote. Plus, I remember what you said concerning this movie about less than two weeks ago. ;)*back to topic*
I'd say, let the director (J31) make the final call. I'm good either way. ;) I LOVE discussions like this.
You're one of the few people that actually reads my posts. :D That's actually why I posted that quote. Hey, anyone that can adequately discuss my favorite all-time movie is ok in my book!
'preciate that, bro. Back atcha on that, fo sho.
What I appreciate about you LL, is that when you post something, it's usually worth reading. Real talk.
Hear ye, hear ye!!!
I make a motion that we add Jlewis to the Board of LGM Movie & Television Association!!
LL, I was trying to find the right quote that wouldn't be so easy. :-\
Now, JL, the reason for my nomination is not because you got the movie correct (and not because you can't seem to come up with the name of the actors) BUT, it's because you came up with another line from the movie. :o :o ;D ;D ;D
For THAT alone, JL, you get my vote.
What say you, members of the Board?
Unfortunately, I'm horrible with names. I can pick the name of other characters that a person has played before I can come up with the Actor/actress real name. My brain just doesn't operate like that
and besides, yall picking movies that I am in love with. The Devils Advocate...... man whoever wrote that movie understands the true nature of spiritual warfare. I was more freaked out with that movie than the Exorcist "the beginning" ( I can't front the first one scared me to death".
Jlewis
Ok folks, I'm off to bible study. I'm teaching about worship tonight. Hopefully, I can be back before 9 to submit my replacement quote.
The Hunted starring Tommy Lee Jones, and Benecio Del Toro. :) ;)
The Hunted starring Tommy Lee Jones, and Benecio Del Toro. :) ;)
this is a woman who loves her man right here.
Pretty good story. Typical Tommy Lee Jones. But Benecio Del Toro does his thing with limited lines. Basically, covert ops dude goes crazy ( can't seem to figure out that the war is over). The nice thing about this though, this type of special ops is designed to do his thing without neccessarily the need for a gun. they can build their own weapons ( knives, booby traps, even specialized shoes that limit the ability to be tracked) from the land around them. This is what made it different from typical rambo type stories.
The combat is moreso hand to hand ( or knife to knife) and not a bunch of fools shooting everything and hitting nothing.
Jlewis
I'd like to give a review of a movie I saw last night. Let me warn you in advance, that I'm in my classic movie stage at the moment, so a lot of the reviews that you get from me will be of movies that out-date all of us.
The movie: Mildred Pierce
This movie was nominated for 6 Oscars and featured Joan Crawford, so I knew I was in for a treat. Without giving away too much detail, the movie was centered around a murder investigation- the murder of Pierce's (Crawford's) husband which occurred that same night. The story unravels as the details leading up to his death are spelled out by a person who was not even a suspect. This movie had all of the elements that make a good drama- antagonists that make you hate them and make you wish they get theirs in the end, the hero/heroine that have you rooting for them from the beginning of the movie, and take you through a range of emotions as they go through their trials, and the happy-go-lucky sidekick-type character, who ends up being essential to the building of the plot.
One word of warning, this film came out in the mid-40's- a period where black actors were the slapstick maids and butlers, although the maid was not too negatively portrayed in this movie.
The film was very well written. Crawford won the Oscar for best actress. It was nominated for best writing and cinematography. Some of the visuals were very dynamic. I admit, the story was somewhat predictable, but enjoyable nonetheless. If you like the classics, then check out Mildred Pierce.
a. what channel was that on? because you and I are in the same area, thereabouts and I might be able to catch it again.Man, I've got to come up with a catch phrase or something that identifies me!
b. the classics get a bum rap too often.
Have you seen Casablanca? ;)
O.K. SJ, and LL I have a movie that I want to see how classic you two are. "7 brides for 7 brothers". I own this one, and I watch at least once a month. I love the singing, and the acting. Scary huh.... This is a true classic. :)I actually saw that one about a year or so ago. It came on cable. Unfortunately, it was a Saturday afternoon, and like I customarily do with movies on Saturday afternoons, I fell asleep. I'll have to rent it one day.

I normally don't do musicals, and I didn't watch enough of it to give it a fair evaluation, so I'll get back to you on that.
I refuse to watch this movie until a DUDE tells me it's an aight musical!

Good thing. It would be very far down my queue.
NO need to rush. Trust. ::)
Good thing. It would be very far down my queue.
By the way, has anyone seen American History X? I'd like to get some opinions on that film, starring Ed Norris.
I saw it recently. I don't think it makes the "must see" category, but I enjoyed the story-telling. Norris did well in this film. Avery Brooks is also in it.
I need to put that one in my queue; although, it might be running on cable this month.

I like Edward Norton's body of work, in general. didn't know 'Hawk' was in it. :oYeah, he actually has a prominent role.
Yeah, he actually has a prominent role.
Norton will not disappoint you in this film. His character takes you through a range of emotions, and Norton pulled it off well.
To be honest, when I read the synopsis of the movie, I was lukewarm about renting it. Then, I didn't even encourage my wife to watch it with me, but afterward, I was glad to have watched it and was even willing to watch it again with my wife. Is it just me, or are good movies better the second time around?
Yea, I think it's headed for the queue. :D

Whether you're a fan of the classics or not, a must-see is "Suddenly Last Summer". It stars Katherine Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor. The story was controversial for it's day, but was told amazingly. The acting was off the hook. And Liz was at her finest (in every sense of the word)
It came on TMC or AMC last week. As usual, I fell asleep, but I did have presence of mind to record it.
Hmmmm....I've heard the title before. I'll have to check it out.

Yo this film was in my list on the other thread/ Loved it sad that I waited so long to see it. He is excellent in most of his films. Which reminds me:
what is the famous line in "Rounders"
there are a few; but the one I like is; 'Listen, if you can't spot the sucker in the first half hour at the table, then you ARE the sucker."
YES!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Hey guys I know I am not apart of your group, but I want to add my two cents even though there very small.
Have you all seen the movie Red Eye. That show was something else. I got so irritated by the man that I kept saying just hit him. It stirred me to violence. Scary huh.

This was a good movie. I almost passed it up until I saw Don's name on it. Has anybody else seen this film?

Hey SJ, "Enter the Dragon" is on AMC right now. It's just coming on.
My guide must be wrong. I've never actually seen the movie, but the movie I'm watching looks like a gangster flick.
It's not on where I am, but it WAS on the other day. ;) :D

My FAVORITE line is....
"Vanity...it's still my favorite sin"
Here is a quote from a movie I enjoy every time I watch it.
"It has become appallingly clear that our technology has surpassed our humanity."
"Albert Einstein. "
"When I look at you, I have hope that maybe one day our humanity will surpass our technology. "
I refuse to watch this movie until a DUDE tells me it's an aight musical!
Leave it to theblack guy trapped in the body of aWhite guy to bring up the movie, "Powder" :D ;D
I'm not feelin 7 brides for 7 brothers.. I can never get through it.. it's a bit GHEY to me.
Now I'll watch bye bye birdie or even Oklahoma or South Pacific. but not that one.
Now for a chick flick... "The Notebook" is an extreamly good and sad love story. Great writing and the movie is done well with good acting.
Fried Green Tomatoes is another.... here is a favorite sceen of mine:
Evelyn Couch: Hey! I was waiting for that spot!
Girl #1: Face it, lady, we're younger and faster!
[Evelyn rear-ends the other car six times]
Girl #1: What are you *doing*?
Girl #2: Are you *crazy*?
Evelyn Couch: Face it, girls, I'm older and I have more insurance.
How about this quote:
"I think this boy's cheese has done slid off his cracker."
The Best Sequels of all time
Comedy
Drama/Suspense
Horror
Action
*******************
Comedy - American Pie, Friday, Meet the Parents, Analyze This, Beverly Hills Cop, Nutty Professor,
Drama/ Suspense - The Ring, The Grudge, Rocky
Horror - Friday the 13th, Omen, Jason, The Phantasm, The Ring, Texas Chainsaw
Action - Terminator, Rambo, Conan, M.I.,
So which ones ( and there are more) wins in each catagory??
NOW this should open a lot of fun discussion ;D ;D ;D ;D
That show ripped my heart out. Just the fact that the guy had to die, and he didn't do anything to deserve it. It just made you plain out mad.
Tawanda!!!!!!!!!! Someone needed to avenge him.

For comedy, I'd have to go with Beverly Hills Cop
For Drama, I'd have to say Rocky because The Ring and The Grudge are actually billed as 'horror' films
For Action, how about Lethal Weapon (except 4, cause THAT was terrible)
For Horror, Freddie Kreuger
You forgot Sci-Fi and the clear winner for that would be Star Wars with Star Trek a close second.
they have 'The St. Valentine's Day Massacre' on AMC where I am. Could that be it?I'm sure that's it. I wasn't interested, so I... well... fell asleep.
Meet the Fockers was awesome
You didn't give Rocky much competition
Friday the 13th (all but the 2nd... that one was weak)
As much as I don't like Tom Cruise... the M.I. movies especially the 3rd where very well done... Plus I like ving raimes(sp)
What 'show'? *in my best New York accent* we're talking 'movies' hea! :-\
OK So let's try and do this in a more organized fashionMr and Mrs Smith
In order to get a "Must -See" list to choose from, we have to at least find the best movies out there. Then we can compile our LGM MTA must see list for folks like Ness who are admitedly behind on the flicks.
So let's start with ACTION MOVIES: ( sequel's or Not)
I say
Desperado
Triple X
Die Hard
The ONE
300
Layer Cake
Formula 51
The One (Sucked)
you want a real jet li movie you have to see "Iron Monkey" or "The Enforcer"
Flying Daggers
All of the Clint Eastwood spagetti westerns
The Usual Suspects
Crash
All of the Borne movies (mat damon)
Sneakers (robert redford)
The Island... my wife and I loved it
Spy Games... robert redford and Brad Pitt
Kad - ok So do u want all of these on the list of Action movies? We are on Action only right now.
I agree Iron Monkey is much better than the One and that was not the right movie. I mean the movie were he has the thing on his kneck. I forget the name
ok I'm a movie and tv nut, why am I not part of this crew...
Sjon.. shame on you, we've had the who should star if they made this movie conversations....

I 2nd the nomination
Funny you should mention that. ;)* HEAR YE, HEAR YE *
As evidenced by his participation in this thread, and from what I know about the man personally, I nominate KADMAN92 to the Board of LGM MTA
What say ye, committee?
Those WERE some good convos, Kad. ;) :D
My mistake, dawg. I thought you were on the list already; I haven't had the chance to go back to page 1 since the thought came to me.
I 2nd the nomination
3rd and it is so We have a final two ( for now):
Jlewis
Kadman
Since I absolutely loves movies this is both fun foremost, and important. We can learn a lot about life from movies so let's just do what we do and enlighten the world to cinema!!!! ;D
What about worst movie ever......
I humbly submit Masters of the Universe ( Staring Dolph Lundgren)
Followed by DareDevil ( Ben Affleck)
Whoa Kimosobi!! We are on action right now ;D
definitely got to agree with braveheart and The Patriot.
The first sniper was actually a pretty good movie
If we gonna talk war stories ( as action flicks):
Saving Private Ryan ( man the scene when they was charging the beach, I had to question my loyalty to my country seeing that scene)
Glory ( Denzel should have got an oscar for this, even if it would have been supporting actor)
Hamburger Hill
Apocalypse Now ( Classic) "I love the smell of napalm in the morning"
My Dad got me hooked on this one: The Green Berets ( with John Wayne)
jlewis
and someone forgot this Swartzenegger favorite... "What happened to Buzz Saw?.... ahhhhh he had to split!!"
Ah..... The Running Man..... not one of my favorites, but definitely some good quotes.
My gang violence flicks ( still some good action):
Colors
Boyz in the Hood
The Outsiders
Menance to Society
Gangs of New York
Jlewis
A MUST SEE!!!!!
"The Professional"
Jean Reno, Natalie Portman, Gary Oldman, Danny Aiello
This movie rocks...
"no women no children"
"Bring me everyone."
"What do you mean "everyone"?
" E V E R Y O N E.!!!!!!!"
Deuces Wild....
A Bronx Tale
Just a quick correction, Denzel did win a best supporting actor Oscar for "Glory".
Indeed
Who didn't know that; WHO didn't know that? >:( Their Board membership will be revoked POST-HASTE!!!! >:( >:(
Who can forget the scene where he's gettin' whipped and starin' at dude with no emotion; then he shed's a single tear.
Man, THAT'S acting, right there! :D
Comb the Desert! Comb the Desert!
Spaceballs
No takers? :-\
Spaceballs
'bout time somebody called it. :-\ It couldn't have been THAT difficult. At first, I just thought you were blurting out a quote. It didn't occur to me that you wanted someone to name the movie.
At first, I just thought you were blurting out a quote. It didn't occur to me that you wanted someone to name the movie.
This is really hard for me, so I'm naming 10. Another 20 could also make it to my top ten, so I'm just naming any 10 (in no particular order):
1-3 Any of the Lord of the Ring movies
6. Ben-Hur
Man - LORD of the Rings - :-\
So what are we defining as Action? ?/?
Lord of the Rings is like an Adventure movie right?
I could be wrong......... WHAT SAY YE FELLOW ASSOCIATES?
Nah, LOTR can stay in the category. I'm cool with that.
LOTR is also listed as fantasy. But I think action is a kind of superset ( regardless of the other genre).
I also look at Alien as Horror ( but then I'm gonna put BladeII on my list so go figure)
But I agree with J31
Specifically:
300
Blade II
then I go t to add
Terminator II
MI 2
Matrix ( Part 2 didn't do it for me till they got on the freeway, part 3 ..... :-\)
SpiderMan 2
Blade Runner ( could be considered sci-fi)
Saving Private Ryan (somebody else mentioned it but its worth a repeat)
Ronin
Bourne Identity ( I'm picky about my hand to hand combat scenes, and in Supremacy.... they did too many cut away shots for my personal liking. But in part I, he handled business like he was supposed to).
I would really like to see somebody do a serious treatment of any of the Remo Williams books. That movie that they did back in the day was horrible, but dude ( in the books ) was really of the chain . So was Chuin.
I would also like to see a serious treatment of the Splinter Cell RPG's on the big screen.
Jlewis
Mission Impossible was a re-make of a tv show
James Bond is a differnet set of books and military skillsets.
24 maybe ( but they need to put a bigscreen budget behind it)
Splinter Cell ( I don't have premium stations like showtime, hbo, cinemax or anything like that so I can' t really comment)
Let me be more specific. Take John clark from "sum of all fears". Do a movie about his assignments, training , character development, team members, etc. I guess "The Recruit" with collin Farrel comes close, but Jon Clark's background was special ops military from day one ( at least with what they tell you in the books.... most of his stuff is still classified).
Jlewis
Heck Naw..... I just using sum of all fears as a template, because in the books John Clark was the business ( I do read a little).
I would use the dude that played the primary training officer in G.I. Jane
Jlewis
Viggo Mortensen. He was also in that movie, 'A History of Violence'
Yep thats him.
I saw that movie too. Isn't that the one where he was this hit man ( but he was living this mild mannered lifestyle currently).
He kills some cats in a bar or diner , and then the mafia comes looking for him after his face was on tv. His son thought he was weak, but he turns out to be this "former" cold blooded type killer.
He handled his buisiness in that one as well
Jlewis
So HOW IS IT THE NOT A SINGLE CHARLES BRONSON MOVIE GOT IN THE MIX??
I ALWAYS thought Charles Bronson was a poor man's Clint Eastwood. :-\
BUT CHARLES WAS DOING HIS ' DEATH WISH THING LONG BEFORE cLINT?? ;)
Let me be transparent. I've never seen a 'Death Wish' movie. I HAVE seen at least ONE Dirty Harry film. Clear it up for you? ;) :D
If you suffer from insomnia, please watch "Catch and release". In all fairness, I came home and my wife was in the middle of it with one of her girlfriends, but it is an extremely slow-moving movie. Both my wife and her friend concurred, and they watched it from the beginning. This will surely cure you of your insomnia- big time!
you bring me to remember the Jack Ryan movies....
Harrison Ford was great in all of them and then there was the Kurt Russell movie we THought was a Segal flick "Executive Decision"
I loved BOTH Under Siege movies the first with Tommy Lee and Gary Busey was awesome.
Remember I love Bruce Willus movies... anyone ever see "Lucky Number Slevin"???
Sin City?
Unbreakable?
Last Boy Scout... (introduced me to ms Halle Berry)
Wow Forgot about Striking Distance... when he was a cop doing river duty
Unbreakable.....highly underatted movie. Great premise, great cast....just needed a little more action and it would have been a classic. From what I remember about that film, I believe I walked away disappointed. The fact that I barely remember it is probably a sign.
Obscure movies you must see:
Comedy: Claudine....Uptown Saturday Night, and Let's Do It Again
Drama: Black Like Me...and Cool Hand Luke
Musical: West Side Story....and, Rent
Horror: When a Stranger Calls (the 1979 original)
Hey, J31, when are we going to move to a different category? We've been on action forever. Additionally, someone needs to go through all the entries and develop a "must-see" list. No, I'm not volunteering. :)
JL ok I was slippin Letts move to Comedy:
your Top 5 "Must See" comedies please
*** working on the must see Action now*** ;)
My comedy:
Uptown Saturday Night ( Sidney & Bill& Flip Wilson ...classic)
Friday
Little Miss Sunshine( Gotta have something wrong with you to like this movie ;) ;))
Napoleon Dynamite ( Tina come get some Ham!!!)
American Pie ( Snifler)
LMS, isn't a must see if one must have something wrong with them to even like the movie. ::)
Dude's name in American Pie is Stifler, man!!!
Comedy:Actually, "When Harry Met Sally" fits under several categories, depending on who you ask in the industry. When you look it up, you see it under drama, comedy and romance.
Tommy Boy
Office Space.... "I believe you have my stapler"...
Austin Powers... the trilogy cause I can't pick one
Trains Planes and Automobiles
Trading Places
Harry Met Sally is not a comedy
Airplane... favorite line... "there's a sale at pennies...."

To me, When Harry Met Sally:
a. is a romantic comedy
b. is a great, great movie
By the way SJ, and LL I have to tell you both that you guys are awesome. My husband would never sit, and watch these movies with me that you all have posted. So I say you two are the bomb. Literally. :)

I nearly lived the Harry met Sally story... never married the girl... :'(
But then I would have never me my wife... ;D
Harry Met Sally was a favorite movie of mine for years... I even had the soundtrack on tap and CD... I became a huge fan of Harry Connic Jr's music after that. It's amazing how he pulls off big band / crooner in todays market.
What about Bob? Baby steps
Life... man that movie was funny

The music and PREMISE of Rent are great, despite the vehicle they use to drive the PREMISE home.
Go saddown, sumwhea!!!! >:( >:(
CO-SIGN, Rent is my favorite musical/movie.

I'll leave it at that.

Did anyone see "The Commitments" ??? I thought that was a great movie....and great soundtrack!!!
I didn't see that show, but did you see "That thing you do". With Tom Hanks as the record producer. I can watch that show over, and over. I don't really know why, but I like it, and the music. :)It came on cable not too long ago. I didn't catch it from the beginning, but it caught my interest.

So what did you think? My girls want to go see it today. Should we go?
So, I JUST saw Transformers......
So, I JUST saw Transformers......
What did you think?.......
I had some issues..... but my kids loved it. The whole scene, at the house looking for the glasses, unneccessary.
John Tuturro ( or whatever his name is.... from Do the right Thing....... horrible)
Special effects ( off the charts, this basically saved it for me)
I know that they had to appeal to the kids, but X-men 3 did it just as well, without being corny ( in my opinion).
Jlewis
Scene at the house WAS extra, but I was cool with it.
John T WAS corny. They didn't have to make his character that way, AT ALL. But, I could live with it.
*side bar* X-Men 3 SUCKED!!!*end side bar*
Let me just say that this movie is what a SUMMER Blockbuster is supposed to be. Period.
I highly recommend it!!!
Next up, Live Free or Die Hard, as soon as I get the chance.
Anyone ever see "Awakenings", with Robin Williams and Robert DeNiro? It was made in 1990, but I saw it for the first time today. Great, touching movie. DeNiro was AMAZING in this film. His performance alone makes the movie a must-see, IMO.
X-Men 3 Sucked !!! :-\
Wow....... I mean really...... Wow
I gotta side with Sjon about X-Men 3. I wouldn't say it sucked, but it was pretty bad.
I have hope for the latest Harry Potter movie,(don't preach on witchcraft cause Harry Potter is fantasy... not what real witchcraft is about)
I enjoy the books and the movies with the incredible special effects. That woman can sure write a book. By the way the last book is due out very soon... sad that they killed you know who in book 6, curious what Harry and his friends will do in 7
I'm looking forward to the next Harry Potter movie as well. I like all of them, but I don't read the books cuz I hate reading books. I'll just stick to da movies. I look at it as pure fantasy and entertainment, ain't trying to cast no spells.
they crammed too much into X3 with the idea that it would be the last. It would have been much better if they just made it into a 2 part ending and develop the story line more.
I haven't even seen Rise of the Silver Surfer because they completely change Galactus, but i guess they are limited to what they can present.

Harry Potter IS witchcraft but for the sake of this thread we will just leave that alone ;)

thank ye...
but seriously we have to agree that nearly all of hollywood's productions are not only secular but carnal. There is questionable content in everything. We just have to educate ourselves and teach our children what is right and what is sin. Also that a movie is a movie and it not reality, computers and special effects make the impossible possible. Do not try at home!

WE will have no Drama in this Association. We will as always have spirited conversation and at the end of the day, still be together. ;)
Which brings up another issue Xmen 3 did stinkup the joint in my honest opinion. My question is if the kidd could " remove" or cleanse mutants of their powers, Jane should have been done.
And why did they make Wolverine so "soft". I mean Wolverine is Wolverine!! :-\
Yes sir we can agree on your points. I should clarify and say for my children, Harry Potter is not ok but neither is Die Hard or Friday or training Day or Teh Godfather for that matter. ;D ;)
Exactly...
we make our 8 yr old son leave the room during such shows as CSI, Jerico (yahoo it's back), and other such graphic prime time shows. If he happens to pass through during something graphic I quickly explain to him that it's make up and special effects.
So though he enjoys Shrek, Toy Story, Nemo, Eragon, and what movies we allow him to see with supervision... he understands that toys don't talk, dragons are not real, people can not fly and fish can not talk... (mr limpet was way before nemo). He wants to see spiderman 3, he has seen the other two on dvd. I can actually say to him... wow that looked real and he understands and still appriciates the magic of special effects
we don't normally watch the news, one they are on too long, and two there is so much violence in the world.
And why did they make Wolverine so "soft". I mean Wolverine is Wolverine!! :-\
The news is on too long? ?/?
News is either, 30 min or an hour. How is that long? :-\
We watch WJZ and it's on from 5 am to 8 amWow, that's a whole lotta news! Do they repeat every hour, or is it all different?
and 4 pm to 7pm
