Hey LGM....
As I stated in the prayer room, our men’s department leader who also was our men’s choir leader died a couple of weeks ago and we had his funeral service a few days ago. Already I have been asked several times to lead our men’s choir. However the problem is, those asking me are simply the men in the church. We don’t have a new leader and our Pastor is still consoling the family and is reluctant to appoint a new leader at this time. How should I approach this situation?

I would just mention to him that you stand ready to assist in any capacity necessary.

That's good. Other than that, I would say do what your hands find to do, meaning fill in where you're needed, but wait until the Pastor decides the time is right to make an appointment. That's a delicate situation, and he's probably right to give it time.

Thanks for the advice, it is greatly appreciated.
