i know most of you have prob heard it but it's still tight.

i wonder how he gets such harmony from chording on a 4 string. mines sounds muddy. also great to hear the melody played with harmonics with an accompanying bass line. i need to start learning how to do that for those times when its just me playing. he's an amazing player. for personal taste though i hate when he goes into his high-speed antics.

As far as Vic's tone boost your highs at about 2-3 o'clock, your mids at about 4-5, and your lows around 12-1. That how I get it when I want it but I use more of a M@ tone myself. It's a lot fuller. As for Amazing grace. I have my own rendition that I play all the time. I did rip it from Vic though. Then I made it so it fit me. I don't go into the "fast flash" part and I chord my harmonics more than Vic. It's got more of a Jaco feel. More soul. less flash.

I have met and seen both Vic and Nathan play. My first bass video was of Nathan East (brother had a G-Curl..LOL!!)...They both have their styles, grooves and approaches to music. I love Nathan because he lays it down and really got me into studing not only the bass but music as a whole....I played other instruments in school but I only practices for what I needed to do and perform for. I was good but could have been great if I had taken a different approach and attitude. Vic taught me how to expand my thoughts and try new things, styles, techniques,etc.....it's funny about peoples perception of your playing...for example....whenever I am playing a song that has alot of beat and kind of funky in church my body movements really tell and show...the song may be something simple like "Joy" by Mary Mary which has all of about 3 chords and is repetitive..but people will come up after church and say "you really thumped that bass today or you sure tore it up"...but when there is a real complicated song with alot of changes and movement and alot of "bottom" to it people will say "oh, that was nice, but you tore that other song up!"...I just laugh because I know that I put alot of time into working around the changes and timing of grace notes,etc....
Anyway, sorry I guess I got of the main topic.....I saw Vic in Dallas back in May with his brother...Reggie had an "Orange" guitar and was killing it...yea, they do look board when they are playing.....they can do it in their sleep...

Doesn't Vic tune to ADGC sometimes. I think i remember hearing him say that. Honestly my favorite videos of vic are when he is fingering. I love his tapping, slaping, harmonics etc but it is kind of hard to transpose it into gospel music. :-\
