They are getting rid of the line and the Catalina Birch is now going for $500 at GC! Is this a good sounding kit? because for 500 dollars, Im leary... :-[ :-\ ;) :)

WHAT! Is that with hardware? Snap that up if it is! I hear they are having a huge sale too!
-
No no hardware though.... :'(... But still that is a great deal man!... and the 8" inch tom is free I believe, the 16" floor is separate...

Is it seven drums? I just assumed it was the standard five...If you get seven drums then thats a good price, depending on the floor tom price.

Yeah, the floor tom is an extra 200 bucks but its still not a bad price... Thats why I like Gretsch, they have 3 great sounding kits in the Ash, Maple, a Birch for good prices!...

Yeah man, most if not all major drum companies are starting to realise that most people dont want to spend 4000 on a pro kit. I can tell you that the mid range kits of today are just as or better then the high end of the 80's. Im 34 and have been playing since 1984 so Ive seen how the kits have progressed over the last 20 years.

...that's a fact.
...Yamboy, I would get the kit without the 16x16. The 14x14 it comes with will do just fine. That's a great kit that had high end looks. Gretsch has just won the stupid award for getting rid of the Catalina Birch. They should've canned the Ash. Notice how Pearl, Tama, Mapex and PDP are all up on Birch with the Visions, Superstar, M Birch and 805's.

No one needs a straight 4000 kit! I can see when add ons like cymbals, electronics, and stuff it coming to that.
