guys thanks for the help on the peavey amp, i also have a shot at a hartke 3500 what do you think.

If you don't need a lot of power then this head is great. The tone/voice is just wonderful and gives you the best of both worlds as far as pre-amp goes.

I had one of the older 3500 heads (Mosfet) that was awesome. I toured with this head and a Transporter 410 for years and it neve let me down. The XL cabs are heavier but they have a better low end than the TP cabs.
I agree with MikeGee that the the preamp blend is really nice.

between the 2 I'd go with the Hartke then, I'd be glad to pay more for the Hartke.

i ended up with the peavey for 300 bucks from craigslist the guy with the hartke never called back. the peavey does have a nice sound. i am excited this is my first cab i was using a fender rumble before so this is an upgrade. :D

Congrats on the purchase. I would also invest in the Boss GEB-7 eq pedal. I had one to go with my head, it help out tremendously.
