Yo I wonder if Erik played when she came to Baltimore for Artscape. I didn't get to see the musicians cause of where I was standing but the drummer did a killer solo when she introduced each musician. Let us know details though.

Is Ddrum that good? I've been going off the prices cause they are never in any stores I go to.

Its good to see that E-Tribb is back on the grind.  I'm not too sure about the jump to ddrum tho.  They must be doing something right.... I'm still kinda on the fence with them.  I'll have to see if their quality control gets any better...

No ddrum is not that good!
Title: Re: E.Tribbett new endorser

Ddrum has snatched up alot of young black drummers as of lately.  Ddrum may not be a premire drum company but they are the ones reaching out, more so than DW, Yamaha, Pearl.  Eventually, Ddrum will be the reason why every black church has a decent set of drums.

I dont think everyone realizes how much of a struggle it is to be a full time musician.  Most of our favorite drummers are not rich!  Not even close.  Its a good thing that they are able to get these endorsements...I know 4 people endorsed with Ddrum.  I wont post the percentage they get off of MSRP but it is unbelievable.

And I dont know how R-Kelly is gonna go from Dejaun to Eric.  They have two totally different sounds.  He must have changed the whole band on that note.  I dont know.

Thomas Pridgen is with progressive rockers the Mars Volta and is on their upcoming CD.

I hope to see a Modern Drummer feature article on him soon being that their last drummer snagged a cover a couple years ago.

They sound good for the price! They have deep "Fat" tones throw some Emperors on the Batter and Ambassadors on the Reso and you'll be good! BTW They are cheaper also! I still think the CX is your best bet though!. ;)

The FS Series is good.  They're an all birch shell kit.  You can also check out the Mapex M Birch kit.  They give you a free 8" tom or something like that.  So to sum it up....The PDP CX, PDP FS, Pearl Vision or Mapex M Birch kits are your next step.  Those kits are 1, 000 times better than what you're playing on right now doc'.  ;) ;D ;D ;D

CX Homie! If you are going for a brand new kit I would suggest the FS! They run about $850 for a 5-Piece kit! The 6 piece is around 950. But you could check the used section of GuitarCenter.com and they may have something in a better price range, and not beat up!..

I saw a used CX for $500 on GC. Then I went to Samash and saw the FS for $600.00. The $100 difference doesn't mean much to me I just want to see which was the best between the two...

I would say that they Maple is better between the Two only bacause I IMO it has a wider tuning range and it is a little more Versitile. The FS would be nice for the Studio but I still thing the CX is the better choice!

Ladell is in good with Mano so he's gonna stay busy.  Ladell and Maurice Fitzgerald have recently appeared on Ledisi's new album and they are straight groovin!

That kit looks nice.  I'm still on the fence with Ddrum.

As long as he's happy with his gear...  He's still one of my top 10.

I think they did give him a high end if that's the Dios kit....David Haddon plays on the Dios kit. I would imagine Erik would play the high end as well considering he is going on tour with Keysha Cole and R. Kelly.

Dios is not high end.  The USA Customs are the high end kits for DDrum.  And that set does not look good with those stupid bubbly emblems and those bulky tom brackets and those...

well erik right now is playing on the player dominion player kit but I don't no if its the maple or the ash kit but he said he love the kit ddrums just sent him a kit just to tour with but he's getting a custom kit maid so you no that takes some time.but I see ddrums is really start to get they name out they are giving a endorsement deal to all the up coming drummers which the other companies is not doing alot of people start to play on they sets,if yall saw sundays best and the drummer is playing on ddrums so they are getting there name out there and there roster is growing...

Ddrums aren't bad sound wise. The hardware sucks unless it's high end. I think once we give them the chance to get the kinks out those drums wont be half bad. For now I am going Gretsch.. ;D

...Yes!!!  Gretsch is a winner.  See if you can find a Catalina Birch kit anywhere.  If you do, buy it.  That's the one.  If I had to go Maple on the low end kits I'd go with PDP though.

...Music Stores, Churches....etc.  You ever notice how churches always go for the so called bargains??  LOL

...anyway, I've never heard the Ash or played on it yet but the reviews are okay I guess.  Ddrum has the Ash game on lock though. :-\

...Dude, consider PDP or even Pearl's Vision Series kit which is Birch/Basswood.  The sound is good and the hardware is great as well.  They won an award for it.

...Question, are you in the N.Y. area?

...The FS Series is pretty good.  I would get that kit with the 9.155 hardware package instead of the 800.  PDP CX kits are good too.

...Dude, look into the M Birch by Mapex.  They're giving away a free 8" tom with it.  http://usa.mapexdrums.com/promos/6for5_2007.asp

Who cares about the amount of endorsers.  People dont go to DDrum because they like the product.  They go because of the price they get to pay for the product.  Plus a few of them were frustrated with their personal status with other big named companies.  They would rather be big fish in a rather small and polluted local pond (DDrum) than be a small fish in one of the seven seas (DW, Pearl, Yamaha, Tama, Sonor, Gretsch, or Mapex)  ;)

First of all, who cares about being endorsed.  This is not just about DDrum, even though (quality wise) they are some of the worst drums to own.  Period.  Being endorsed is over-rated.  I'm not saying anything is wrong with it but come on.  You basically work for a company and you cant play anything but their gear.  Why would anyone do that?  I dont care about being endorsed.  If a company comes to me, thats different.  Then we will work things out on my terms.  But you gotta know that most of these drummers are looking for the company, instead of the company looking for them.  Of course they're not going to get red carpet treatment in a case like that.  And the only reason DDrum is treating them with respect is because thats all they have to give cause they sure cant give you a quality product.  "Uh yes Eric, I will send you this crappy snare ASAP!  Call me if you need anything else buddy!  Love you, my little urban drummer slave!"  -president of DDrum.

too hilarious dude.....the fact of the matter this is true, and yes I do own a set of Ddrums, wehn I got them they had issues but it was worked out in a couple of days, I think the endorsement thing is really over-rated, I know alot of cats personally and they do say its the people behind the company that keeps them playing their product, fact of the matter I don't know a single "Gospel, R&B" or anything related thats getting absolutely FREEEE product, even with cymbals, I know for a fact what alot of them are gettting, when they do MD fest or something on that playing feild oh you better believe DW/Yam/Pearl Zild,Sabe is gonna send out there best for free, but when them dudes go home, guess what the drums go back, or if they want them they still have to pay, Aaron still pd for his DW, Coon still shelled out almost 2 grand for his purple absolute birch kit with his name on the yamah badges.... not blasting nobody but still endorsements don't make you.... prime example, I know traveling working muscians that got "endorsements" with Sabian, well I have the same "deal" they have, and what, and alot of yall don't even know me or my playing like that, and yes I got it on my own, not help from anybody, but not to brag or boast, I give God the honor and glory for that deal working out....so does it really matter if you're "endorsed" or even who you're endorsed by, its a matter of preference, and I'll tell anybody....MY DRUMS DON'T MAKE ME, SO IF YOUR SKILL IS BASED ON THE GEAR YOU CHOOSE TO PLAY, THEN I GUESS I'M A SUCKY DRUMMER SINCE DDRUM SUCKS.....LOL
