Great find J. I love this guy! (no homo)
I have been a fan of his since I saw Alecia Keys in 2002. He killed the gig. I appreciate him because of his musicality and respect for the music. He is deffinitely in my top 5.
Those Gretsch sound and look amazing.
-
Yeah, you beat me to it. He made me post that snare into my "ahvie (avatar)".
-
Yeah I love how this guys plays....(no homo)...One of my top favorites....
-
Why does 'no homo' have to follow compliments? Are we in an age where someone has to be considered as 'suspect' whenever someone gives a compliment to a guy from a guy?
If you love his playing or just love the guy, just man up and say it. No one will think that you're 'suspect' because you said so.
-
I do it jokingly because there are a lot of cats on the board that can not give a compliment without saying it. I can surely give a compliment and not say no homo.
I guess I shoulda used a smiley huh? :-\
-
Nah, man - it's all good. I was just wondering (why), that's all.
His Zildjians sound good, too.

lol...I just do it because I started to see people saying that for everything....so I thought that's how these people think...but I can definitely say a compliment without saying no homo...GB

Uhh, ok.

Those New Classics are bangin. There are three kits that I have narrowed my search down to: The Gretsch New Classics, Sonor Delites, and the Tama Birch/Binga.
Like you said, JC.... If they're good enough for Vinnie, they are good enough for me!
-
...juse, for your shows.....Gretsh Classics. Nothing better. The people and band will love it. Trust me. TAMA's Birch/bubinga is not all that. You either have a Birch or a Bubinga. MHO

I am digging the New Classics. The Birch/Bingas are kinda cool. But the Delites are really cool too. I'm still shopping. I'm not looking to buy a kit tomorrow.... Just doing some comparison shopping...
Of course the DW's are on the list too....

...yeah but thinking about the shows....the Classics hands down. But hey, the DW's are.....well..........DW. LOL
...There's absolutely nothing wrong with Sonor either. Isn't the Delite what Chris plays?

Chris Coleman plays either the Delites or the S Class. Both of them are hot.
I want versatile drums for all situations. The Classics are hot. They are ranking really high on the list to be honest. I just wonder if I can get them in the sizes I want. I already see that getting the Delites in the sizes I want will be an issue. That just might be what makes the decision for me.

...what are the sizes?

All I really care about are 10x7 and 12x8 racktoms and floor toms with legs. Everything else is whatever.

...DW Wins. Dude, 8x10 and 8x12 is where it's at. Those are real versatile. The 8x10 can be tuned high or low. Now the 8x12 is the way to go for 12" toms.
...here are the Classics sizes.

...by the way, did anybody listen to the interview??? Did yall hear Phinkky say that he drove a ways to see his God Brother and others play? Did yall hear this dude say that he learn to play with tracks/loops from Gerald Heyward? Did yall hear him say that he fractured his RIGHT ankle and he still has a blazin' Right foot?? Or was it just me ?/?
...Phinkky is a real humble cat.
-
J!!! Why are you trying to start something with the Gerald comment LOL!!! Just playing man, Gerald is a beast man and I'm glad that he gave him props. However, that interview had mad knowledge....Very humble cat and blessed.
