Title: A Question for the bassist
Post by: Snug on September 10, 2004, 11:37:23 AM
Hey I'm a bass player and I know how to play just about any gospel song, well any song period by ear, but what I'm confused on is how to back up someone when there speaking, like when a preacher gets in high points of his sermon. I've tried just hitting one note at a time rhythms and they work, but it seems to simple to me. When my cousin does it he puts a whole lot stuff in there, but he goes so fast that I can see what he's doing can anyone help me.

Tell your cousin to slow down.

Really, if he's good, you have an in-house teacher.  :D

Try playing some 2/3 note chords real softly. It's easy on your hands and you can go for long periods of timeif you have to.
