Title: Book: Fresh Wind, Fresh Fir
Post by: 4hisglory on November 15, 2007, 09:51:35 AM
Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire by Jim Cymbala

I suggest everyone read this book.  It is powerful.  Its a book about how a  white pastor took a 5 member church in the heart of Brooklyn, NY and allow GOD to use him to grow it into a prominent church today, called the Brooklyn Tabernacle (you may have heard of the choir before :) ).

You know, a lot of people can't get wit' 'em, but I LOVE the BTC.

They have this one song called, "They Followed a Star" that's a great song for the Ephinany season. ;)

It's on their Christmas CD.

Dude, there is so much passion and purity in their vocals... and their leads are just awesome!  You can tell that they mean what they're singing about and don't care about the fluff and stuff... they just want to worship Jesus through music.  And on top of that, it sounds good!  :)

I love Brooklyn Tab!  I still play the Praise Him Live CD from the 90s.  In fact, that's my fave one!

Read the book a few years ago and got  more familiar with the passion of the people of The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and their music ...  Powerful reading!
