Despite the colors.... is this a decent kit to practice on at home? Space is limited in the music room, but my SON needs a kit to workout on. Gimme some advice!
PS.....Besides pointing out the colors!!!!! Lol! we could get them recovered right?

If its for practicing only get him a practice kit like the DW Go Anywhere kit or the Gibralter one (forgot the name).
Pros: Cheaper than a full size drum set, son can play anytime day or night (won't disturb anyone), portable.
Cons: Its not a real drum set (That's if you prefer a real drumset), wear & tear on the pads & gear (which is normal anyway).

what ever you do DON'T MAKE YOUR SON PLAY ON THAT KIT!!! :o :o
seriously though if your gonna buy that kit and then recover it, why dont you take the money you'll use for the kit and the recovering and buy him a more MANLY kit from the start? It would be less hassle and he could start jammin' right away

dude id say go for it! 200 bucks and you said its just for the crib so whos gonna find out!?! lol but foreal i would get it!

Apparently someone else had the same idea because that kit has sold out everywhere! It's all good though. I guess thats just devine intervention ;D!

Dre,
due to lack of room, I purchased a pearl rythm travel set for around $415. The only thing you would have to eventually replace are the cymbals. I also used the kit on a couple of gigs with a Jazz band.

Drummin....
The shells on the Pearl traveler are a lot thinner...also, look at the bass shell. Your set maybe the better quality, but the pearl traveler is thinner.

PLEASE I'M BEGGING YOU. DON'T MAKE YOUR SON PLAY ON THAT KIT!!! ;) ;) ;)
all kidding aside do what ya gotta do bro cause gear aint cheap. all I know is at that age I would have been glad to have a kit like that but I still would have covered in duct tape or something

Ok are we not looking for the lowest price and the better quality? When did the thin become a factor to his purchase of a kit? the stagestar takes up about the same amount of space as your kit does... so i dont understand what you really mean about the "thiness" ?/?
