Okay, I'm about to purchase Fruity Loops Studio 7...BUT, I'm new to this whole thing and I'm wondering if maybe there are some beginner guides or tutorials that someone could refer me to in order to make the learning curve a bit more smoother. Thanks.

Yes,
in the mixer you can choose the input and set it to the input you're using for your soundcard and then you can record vocals, instruments..anything! It's a full studio in itself. And with VST Plugins, you might not even need your keyboard sounds. You could use your keyboard as only a controller.
