Yo im lovin that beat and them keys...!!!! Great work...!!
-
Lemme here ya say...Go Jizzle....Go Jizzle.....GO!! ;)
You play very beautiful music b_jizzle....Keep up the good work!!! God bless!
-
...I wont talk about the errors in my critique because there is a point I want not to be overshadowed by them. This was a perfect example of using entirely unnecessary chords in a beautiful and thoughtful manner. Today we are inundated by so called keyboardists who's claim to fame is hitting every chord they know in every song in the name of PHATNESS!...IT IS RIDICULOUS AND ANNOYING!
But here...and I shall not presume why!!!!...(I dont know if you know what you are doing ..or if you guessed!)....But you have succeeded in playing progressions that have something to do with the melody...IMAGINE THAT!
...So congratulations...and keep up the good work! :D

Thanks Fam...Alot of the chords I used in there are ones i learned from your "Intermediate Chord Progressions" thread a while back, And some of the chords Chevonee posted
...currently at my level of playing, nothing feels better than learning new chords and knowing where to place them, Thanks to LGM ;D ;D

This is so confusing to me now..
I play pretty ok if I just follow the melody..but then now when the guy at church heard me play, he said I should try to spice up my playing a bit..so I had to try (& still am trying to) train my brain & hands 2 play those phat chords like every1 else...
but now I get here & every1 is discouraging that!!!
I guess I'll have to stick to playing the way I do & forget about playing those phat chords in every song unnecessarily.

I encourage you to learn them
People have different opinions about using phat chords and what-not. I believe if they are used overwhelmingly, it just sounds ugly. However, I believe that they can also add a nice flavour and contemporary feel (if thats what your looking for) to your playing. I know quite a few thick chords but Im still trying to learn new ones so I can add to my playing and use when the time is right.
I say, keep on practicing and learning cuz to me, nothing feels better than learning a new chord, progression, run etc. whether it be phat or simple. After all, what does it hurt to have a healthy libary of chords to dig into?! ;D
God Bless :)

This is the best piece of advice you can tell yourself. Just play the way you feel it and don't worry about trying to sound like other people. If people criticize your playing, take what u feel will help you and throw out the rest. In the end, as long as you and God are pleased, that's all that really matters.

Yes, T-Block is a Veteran, ima take his advice too. For now, im gonna work on making my playing more smooth (its too choppy for my liking right now) and learn all the keys as good as or better than I know Eb.
Peace 8)
