...well, John Blackwell emailed me a while back when I asked him the same question and he said that "he" sets his springs to a very high tension and then practices 8th notes and 16th notes.  I don't really agree with that but that's him.

...Dennis Chambers said in an article on Pearl's website that he takes the Springs Off of his pedal and tries to keep the beater going.  (Like dribbling a Basketball)  I like Dennis' idea better because it's DENNIS. LOL

...Control and accuracy is what you really want man.  Practice everyday with an occasional day off and don't over do it.

...if you're playing with mic's, all you want to do is be clear with your strokes and not play through the head.

I do these exercises. Get some work with your hands in while your working with your foot. Why not? It's not good to get your foot so ahead of your hands anyway.

(R)ight Hand - (K)ick - (L)eft Hand - Kick  Then repeat of course.  Mix the hands up, snare, toms, cymbals.
Alternate
R-K-R-K-R-K
L-K-L-K-L-K

Then

RL - KK - LR - KK    Then repeat.

Try...

RL - KK - RL - KK

LR - KK - LR - KK

Then the blackwell exercise ...

R-K-L-K-R-KK
L-K-R-K-L-KK

Get these up to speed and you'll be like, "DANG!"    PRINT IT OUT! haha  8)

IMHO, this is a sloppy video. His doubles were uneven in that short groove.

ok... thanks jf! I will take alook at that in the near furture...

I wish you could jump on this now. Seriously, therefore you could develope from the start. I have heard many people say "untraining bad habits is double the trouble." I have the Matt Ritter's DVD, JFunky prescribed. One of the best on the subject, Matt has studied the bass drum technique itself and that of various drummers for over a decade. Well worth it and the price has been lowered.

You could also use stick control playing the pattern between your foot and hands. There`s also some crazy book called Bass Drum Control by Colin Bailey.

Welcome to the drum room mingusfingus!
Thanks man, I found out that this is the best musician internet community I`ve ever saw. I`m proud of being a part of it :) Especially because I`m from the place where is no any gospel music, no music in church and no descent music at all. So I`m kinda new not to this online community but to the whole culture.

I can identify with that. I live in a culture where gospel music is not the norm. Its not the kind of culture that's lived here. So I can understand what you mean.

Don't worry about it cause from now on it can only get better!
