Title: CHRISTINE, STEPHANIE, MARIE, ETC...
Post by: CarlosVegaJunior on January 15, 2008, 06:26:56 PM

IF A BASSIST AND GUITARIST CAN NAME THEIR INSTRUMENTS.... WHY CANT DRUMMERS???

I wouldn't name every single piece of our drumsets and cymbals cause we'd be called "womenizers". lol...

I have 3 drum sets (A Pearl BRX and 2 Dw's) here are their names...

The silver sparkle DW is Jezebel.

The natural wood DW is Maureen.

And the Pearl BRX (my fav) is Sade.

What's yours?

All of my drums with the acception of the Elvin snare are female.  They don't have names.  But they are female because I love them the like I'd love a lady.  I love them for what they are, good and bad.  I accept what they are and make them work for me.  And my drums sound and set up wise are constructed how I like my ladies.  Just enough up top (10 and 12 inch rack toms) with more down low (14, 16, and eventually an 18 inch floor tom and a 22 inch kick).

I know some smart allec is gonna say "wow juSe...  do you sleep with your drums?" No, I do not.  However when I was young(er) they did put a strain on a relationship...

The Elvin isnt a girl for an obvious reason...  Its already named Elvin.  :-\
