Whats the best snare head to get a good pop?
-
I think the hottest snare head is the Remo Ambassador Clear head. It's got like a crazy pop sound to it on my piccolo. And Rocker, I see that you are not that far from me. I'm in Augusta man. I play at Macedonia Baptist Church. If you wanna get up email me.

if u wanna clean pop with thickness, warmth & little or no ringy overtone try evans Hdd dry w/ vent holes(2ply)

a good pop? try Remo Powerstoke 3 coated without the dot..........CS Coated with black dot underneath....All Evans coated heads give a good pop if u tweek them tight enough, and also it depends on what type of snare u have.

I have a Evans G2 coated on my 10x5 Pearl Firecracker. Now that thing really "Blazes". ZK

IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT TYPE OF SNARE SOUND YOU LIKE. NOW, IF YOU LIKE A NICE CRISP POP WITH NO OVERTONES, I SUGGEST YOU GO WITH THE POWERSTROKE HEADS WHICH HAVE A SMALL HOOP ON THE UNDERSIDE TO MUFFLE IT. NOW, IF YOU ARE LIKE ME AND LIKE YOU SNARE TO SIIIIIIIIING, THEN YOU CAN USE A SINGLE PLY HEAD WITH NO MUFFLING AND CRANK THAT BAD BOY UP!!!!!!
-ITS ALL GOOD AND ITS ALL GOD

Whats the best snare head to get a good pop?
to me its probably the remo ambassador, but in addition to that my secret is that i put a small peice of cusion in the snare, not enough to muffle it, but just enough to give a rich nice "POP" try it!also it all depends on how deep your snare is.[/quote]

let me just tell you if you want the pest pop off a snare head get a remo renaissance head. i played with this cat in philly and he interduced me to them. if i want my snare to have a good clean and crisp sound ill never go with any other head.
