Just want to ask all the bass players who are using or have use drum machines in the past what has been
your experience with a particular brand/model. I'm currently in the market for a good used drum machine
to play along with(hard to find a drummer to practice with a beginner bass player..LOL). Any suggestions
would be very helpful.
Have A BLESS & SAFE WEEKEND EVERYBODY!!!!

I use Propellerheads Reason. They have some nice drum loops to practice to.

If you consider yourself a beginner, you might want to consider something like a Korg Pandora. I've had a Pandora PX3B for several years now. It's a great headphone amp and practice tool that you can put in your pocket and take anywhere. It has several pre-programmed drum patterns in it, has several effects, abuilt in tuner, and also allows you to record short clips of music and loop it or even slow it down without changing pitch so that you can work out the parts you want to work on. Now, this is a lot more functionality than the drum machine you asked about, but it may be capable of meeting that need and several other needs you may have in one little box. The trade off is that the drum settings are limited to what's already on there, but if you are a beginner, there's probably more than enough there to keep you going for a while.(http://www.4strings.at/images/px3b.gif)
You can typically find them used at a really good price, or you can get a new Pandora PX4D for about $150

Now I'm actually considering upgrading to the new Pandora PX5D.

Has anyone experienced with the DR -880... it's running around at $495, but wondering if it's worth the investment. The drums sound so realistic i was thinking of using for recording and for practice as well.
