I think it's good, never played it. I've read that it has the same sounds as the fantom x.
So that should give you an idea of the sounds. :-\

Hey there. I'm new here but figured I'd give you my 2 cents. I Just bought one and loooooooove it to death. Only thing is that the sounds (at least for me) have to be tweaked a little, really the brass, to give them a more realistic feel. Other than that Its fine.

Not just read them <insert divinemusician's goverment name here>, go to the store and physically try it out. I have 2 boards that I picked not cause of the reviews but by actually playing them. I can tell you that it's the best board for ME but not for YOU. :)

I have the board and it is great, but could someone please tell me how to split the board for the bass on the left end of the board and piano on the right end of the board.

I'm planning to look at a Juno-D today.  I could use another auxillary keyboard for bigger gigs or main board on small gigs.

I'm heading to Guitar Center in an hour, so I'll post my findings later.  If I really like it and they have one in stock, I'll leave with one.

Update:
I went to play the Juno-G and decided to buy one.  The fact that it was on sale definately was a factor also.  Most of the sounds are pretty good and very usable for my needs.  No, they don't sound quite as good as a new Motif or the new Fantom, I can't complain for the price.  The pianos are decent; a bit dark but still good.  Very good synth basses(no surprise from Roland)  The organs suck unfortunately.  The strings, rhodes, synths, and pads are nice.  This thing also has a sequencer, sampler and audio recorder.  The graphic interface is really nice also.  You can see the screen from a mile away.
In short, this is a great value especially for a gigging musician that wants a lot of sounds in a light compact keyboard that has many features that get left out when you spend under $1000.

Wow, so U mean the Fantom & Motif are on a class of their own?
Then 1 day I should spoil myself with 1 of those...maybe a Fantom G or the Motif XS..

& a big Congrats on your new relationship :)

I would say yes.  Even though they say the Juno-G has the Fantom sound engine, the overal sounds aren't quite as robust to me.  It does have 128 voice polyphony so you can do layering.  The d-beam is cool although I haven't messed with it much.
For a second board to play aux sounds, it's great.

Its almost not even fair to compare the Juno-G to a Fantom or a Motif. The Juno-G is a scaled down version of the Fantom but Roland took a lot out of the board to get it so cheap. Don't get me wrong, its a great board, just doesn't compare to the 'grown up' boards, lol. If you've got the cash, definately get a Motif or a Fantom. I don't reall like Korg's new board for a church setting... great for a studio though.

If you look at just the sounds, there isn't a huge difference but there is a difference.  If you look at all the other features, the gap widens.  It only makes sense that no company is going to put out an affordable board that is just as good as the more expensive ones.

thats true im glad that most of the companies are making affordable but great sounding boards

korg-tr series
roland-juno g/d
yamaha-mo/mm6

to be honest those casio wk boards are sick too

4 me right now, sound is primary because I just play...& I wasn't very pleased with what came out of the Fantom X (piano)..but i guess that's bcos 1 didn't mess with the board enough to get the "right" piano sounds.

but 4 other features, yeah, there must be a great deal one can do with those boards that an ordinary player like me doesn't make much use of.

Experts out there, please motivate for me why it would be cool to have a Motif/ Fantom coz I do want to see the full capacity of a board I own, even if it's jut for fun..
Polyphony is 1, but like TMR stated, the Juno G is a 128..so what else do I really need?

It always boils down to what you want to accomplish with your equipment.  If you just want the sounds, you can usually get the rack version.  I just opted to get the Juno G because I mostly use modules and midi controllers.  It's nice having a keyboard with the sounds in it.
