I have this information on another site, so I figured I would just post the links for all you beginners out there. It's mainly the major scale (formula, fingering), scale degree chords, and basic chords (inversions & optional fingering) for each key. Enjoy!!!

Don't get it confused..."major chords" and "chords built off the major scale degrees" are not the same thing...
ex., just going up the C major scale
C-E-G = CMaj
D-F#-A = DMaj
E-G#-B = EMaj
F-A-C = FMaj
G-B-D = GMaj
A-C#-E = AMaj
B-D#-F# = BMaj
back to CMaj...the intervals for the Maj Chord are the same on the black keys...ie., Db, Gb, Ab, Bb
When he is talking Maj scale degree chords within a "Maj scale"...he is saying...
...the C maj scale/each degree/note = C - D - E - F - G - A - B - back to C...the degrees normally have a chord pattern associated with the maj scale, however it's different for Minor scales...
In Major...ex., below, talking major scale degree chords
Maj - min - min - Maj...etc.,
C-E-G = CMaj
D-F-A = Dmin
E-G-B = Emin
F-A-C = FMaj
etc.,

;D that clears it up thanks

whats the difference between a scale degree chord and a major chord?
A scale degree chord is a chord (can be major, minor, augmented, or diminished) built off the scale degrees. The chord members only use the notes of the major scale.
A major chord is a chord built using the 1st, 3rd, and 5th scale degrees of any key.

Theoretically, there is a D# major scale. But, since it has all those double sharps, it will most likely be written in the key of Eb. And yes, those are the right notes.
P.S. Once you past C# & Cb, you start naming the scales according to how many double sharps or flats there are. So, the key of D# major would be 2 double sharps (F & C). Just a little tidbit there!!! ;)

thanks mr T..
thought as much because otherwise there wouldnt be rationale in having Fb scale but not a D# 8)

Theoretically, you can have whatever scale u want. As long as it follow the correct formula, it's a scale. You can have C##, Bbb, F###, Ebbb, etc. it don't matter. It's not the notes, it's the organization of those notes. ;)

This is very helpful to me, I never knew there was a difference. Thank you T-Block! You seem to know an awful about music! ;)
