1) The defending AFC champions re-signed the record-breaking receiver on Monday to a three-year deal worth $27 million, his agent said. The signing was confirmed by the team shortly after Moss posted a message to fans on his Web site.

2) Associated Press

PITTSBURGH -- Nearly two years ago, Ben Roethlisberger's life and his football career were in jeopardy following a serious motorcycle crash that came only a few months after he led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a Super Bowl victory.

Talk about a comeback. Not only did Roethlisberger return to being one of the NFL's best quarterbacks last season, he signed an eight-year extension Monday that guarantees him $36 million and makes him one of the league's top-paid players.

4). The New York Jets put the finishing touches on their prized offseason addition on Monday, signing unrestricted free agent guard Alan Faneca.

The five-year deal, widely reported to be valued at $40 million, makes the former Pittsburgh Steeler the highest-paid offensive lineman in the NFL.

I don't think that there was any doubt that the Pats were going to re-sign Randy.

The Falcons released Warrick Dunn.  The owner had the nerve to talk about how, in his heart, Dunn will always be a Falcon.

What a way to say, "Thank You".

Didin't he eclipse 1,000 yards in '06...and in '05?  One sub-par season in a sham of an offense is not what I consider done.

"sham of an offense"  :D :D :D :D

As well as '04, good sir.

In his career, Dunn's only had 5 1,000 yard seasons, albeit 3 of them with the Falcons. He did have two seasons of just over 900. That's ok, I guess.

His TD numbers are subpar, however, posting 9 in 2004 or 5, I believe.

Did you hear that his reps called the *gasp* DALLAS COWBOYS?!?!? :o

$57 million over six years.

But we still need a big time receiver. :-\

Out of curiosity, do you happen to have access to his career ypc numbers?  That means more to me than some of those other stats, since in ATL, he split carries with Vick, Duckett (when he was there), and that new kid.  In TB, he deferred all the TD goal line runs to Alstott.  He was also an asset, out of the backfield, receiving.  Now, I'm not saying that his best days are not behind him.  I just can't agree with the fact that he was "done" based upon what he worked with last year.  I don't think that is a fair measuring stick.

I feel you. His career ypc is 4.1. In the last three years, it was 3.4; 4.0; 5.1 going backwards from last season.

In his final season in TB he averaged 2.8 ypc.

Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder and Executive Vice-President Vinny Cerrato covet Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson, but the Bengals remain steadfast they will not deal him. Washington also has interest in free agent wide receiver D.J. Hackett of the Seattle Seahawks, league sources said, but only at the right price.

speaking of dunn he actually hit the 10,000 yard rushing mark so thats good right?? wherever he goes he wont be the starter but he will get playing time i dont think hes done yet sometimes when a player change teams they play better or it rejuvenate them or something.
if the cowboys dont get mcfadden maybe they should consider dunn to go along with our favorite barbera ::)

I don't want to see the Cowboys get McFadden (too many off the field problems for my taste; reminds me of Pacman Jones :-\).

I'd like to see them get a quality CB or safety. I can't believe they let Jacques Reeves go. >:(

Man I can't believe that Marion Barber is leaving the Cowboys.....Lawd Jesus Have Mercy!!!! I hope that they don't get Darren McFadden but somehow I believe that's exactly what Jerry Jones is going to do. I also agree Sjon, that the Cowboys need a better CB...but who can they get now that Asante Samuel is gone.

Do you think that Bret Favre's retirement was based on him being mentally tired or do you think that his retirement is based on the fact that they couldn't get Randy Moss??

Man I can't believe that Marion Barber is leaving the Cowboys.....

Where are you getting this??

Barber isn't going anywhere. The 'Boys paid him the maximum tender offer. For teams to really try and get Barber, they'd have to pay a pretty penny (and/or give up their 1st and 3rd round draft picks).

Man........if dallas gives up barber.............ill cry lol but for real...........we should just get mendenhall from illinois.  barber is not an absolute #1, not even in college(insert Laurence Maroney)..meaning that he is MUCH more effective with another back of his caliber.  Dallas needs help at a lot of spots so they are gonna have to pick and choose what they do

With the passing game that Dallas possesses, Barber won't need to do more than he did last year. I mean, really, look at JJ's numbers from last season, he didn't do much of anything. ::) It was all Barber.

I can see him doing that again, next season.

Dallas' biggest concern should be there defensive backfield and the lack of depth. Why A. Samuel isn't in a Dallas uniform is beyond my understanding as a football enthusiast.  :-\

Agreed! Denver's Offensive line made him look better than what he's worth, which is why he did nada with the Lions.

As for Marion Barber, if y'all don't already know, I rep the GIANTS all day and twice on Thursdays... but that boy (Marion) is a problem. However, his running style will eventually take a toll on his body. Dude, needs "quick" help.

Now this is what i heard....

"Eli Manning had propelled himself into consideration for the cover of Madden 09. Being that it was just a couple hours after the game ended that was just pure speculation on my part. However now there is buzz going around that not only is he at the top of the list, but that he is actually in negotiation and appears to be EA’s top choice for 09."

thats my choice!!

NOT. EVEN. FUNNY.

Besides, Brady's TOO smart to even let that happen. You'd think most NFL players would be smart enough NOT to have their face on the cover. :-\

I don't think he's a #1 WR the way he used to be. Perhaps, Darrell Jackson can produce the way he was expected to, last year.  :-\

An upgrade at QB is NOT what the Niners really needed. They NEED a real QB. ::)

yea the keyword is stay out of trouble if dallas sign him they should make sure to put rules and regulations in his contract so if he breaks them we can cut him and get the money back.but as long as he do that he will be well on his way to be the next champ bailey cus pacman was good on the field.

rumor has it that d.hall and the giants are no longer talking so maybe we can get him

As a Cowboy fan, I'm not sure if I like this move.  When he did play for the Titans, weren't they like ranked 30th in defense?  And when he wasn't there, they were actually better?

I know the Dallas has had some shady folks in the pass but at the same time, they have proven for years and years that they were the best at what they do.  I guess we shall wait and see.

Bruh, one man does not a team defense make. In his two NFL seasons, Pacman played in 30 gms with 115 tkls (94 solo), 18 pass deflections and 4 picks (one returned for a TD). As a returner, Pacman was FIYAH!! 63 PR for 712 yds and 4 TDs.

If that boy can stay OUT of trouble AND hasn't lost his natural football instincts, I'm liking this move, big time.  ;)

I know doubting what you are saying.  All I am saying is typically, in one year, if a team losses its best defensive player, they don't go from 32nd to 5th in defense.

Was he the only change made to the defense? The defensive scheme may have changed; they may develop more playmakers on the defensive side of the ball.

Are there other factors?

I think the Titans have made a mistake with letting him go.  But I think that Pacman losing over $3 million dollars over the last year has gotten his attention.  It's more of a public relations move for the Titans because the local Nashville media has taken him through the wringer.  Things as minor as his being pulled over in his Lamborghini for speeding was at the top of the news and in the paper.  Of course it was found that he had the wrong tags on his car, but that was resolved by simply paying a fine.  But it was all over the news for a few days.  It was ridiculous.  How many people get pulled over for speeding and it makes the front page of the newspaper?  And now that this Las Vegas issue has taken a different turn, no one is being apologetic for the slanderous things they have said about him.  Yes, he put himself in certain situations that he should have been a little more discerning about, but he came into the league with a shadow over his head.  But he is not the first, nor the last professional athlete to get into trouble for something.

As far as his on-field abilites, he was an excellent player.  He made plays and guarded his man very well.  he was a tackler, and a fierce competitor.  As a player, I liked him.  I liked him a lot.  We'll see who he is replaced by and that will show whether or not this was a good move.  Amybe a chane of scenery will be good for him.  Terrell Owens will keep him on the straight and narrow.

Troy Smith showed that he could play with the big boys, so I think he deserves a shot.  Of course, being a Steeler fan, I kinda hope any and every Ravens QB crashes and burns.  lol

Don't get me wrong, I actually like Troy Smith.  And, if he weren't in the AFC North, I'd wish him much success.  ;D

Yeah, I'm also glad that he's back.  Davenport filled in pretty well in his absence.

I think the Ravens should stay away from Matt Ryan........or be doomed to continue in the merry-go-round of QBs in the future.

And no I don't think the Raiders need Mcfadden........that would be one of those "let's see what happens" picks!

thats true truthfully maybe the lions or bears should try to go after mcfadden they really need a gamebreaker.

my cowboys got there 4th round pick back jerry jones is a smart guy i really see the cowboys making a splash this year if we filled these holes wr-terry glenn is done, crayton is ok but the boys need a playmaker wr on the opposite side of t.o. cb-we still need another cb even tho we have pacman cus he might not play this year rb-and of course we need another rb to go along woth my boy marion barbara i think felix jones would be the perfect pick.

my other the team the colts are looking at another wr since harrison is starting to fall off cus of injuries,i like wayne and gonzales but we need another wr just incase

I missed the entire draft this year; there wasn't much to discuss. But, usually, I watch the first round.

I have to admit, when linemen are at the top of the draft, its not very exciting.

Adam "Pacman" Jones is already showing his new teammates some of his playmaking skills. Still, Jones knows lessons learned off the field in more than a year away from the game are more important than two interceptions in two offseason practices with the Dallas Cowboys.

how do you think he's gonna be wit T O?  ;)

Shockey traded to Saints (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=txgiantsshockey&prov=st&type=lgns)

Looks like neither team won in this deal.  The fact that he was traded for a 2nd and 5th round pick shows that neither team has much faith in his future dominance at the position in the future.

He doesn't have to dominate he just needs to be productive. And, I think in a new city, with a new team; he'll have an opportunity to rebound.

If he can stay healthy, I think he'll be fine. And, I think the Saints win because Shockey CAN block, which opens up running lanes for Bush and Stecker. He can still catch the rock, which opens passing lanes for Henderson and Colston.

I definitely think it's a win for Shockey.  As a result, it may be a win for the Saints because one's attitude is the biggest determining factor of one's performance.  His attitude will be renewed, so we'll see.  For the record, I always thought he was overrated.

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who wants to play despite a broken pinkie on his throwing hand, practiced and threw passes to receivers Thursday. Romo threw lightly to all receivers during the early portion of practice that was open to reporters, though 40-year-old backup Brad Johnson was working with the starters during drills. Neither quarterback took direct snaps from centers during that time.

New Orleans Saints veterans Deuce McAllister and Will Smith reportedly are among several players who have violated the NFL steroids policy.

Fox 31 television in Denver, citing an unnamed source, reported Friday there are between six and 10 positive tests in the NFL for a weight-loss diuretic. The only names the station mentioned were the two Saints, who are in London for Sunday?s game with the San Diego Chargers.

They just gonna keep doin wat they wanna do now days!!! Its sad!!!
