3) The Tennessee Titans agreed to a two-year contract with former Atlanta tight end Alge Crumpler, one of many veterans released last month by the Falcons.Yep Vince Young now has a new toy to play with... ;)
1) The defending AFC champions re-signed the record-breaking receiver on Monday to a three-year deal worth $27 million, his agent said. The signing was confirmed by the team shortly after Moss posted a message to fans on his Web site.I don't think that there was any doubt that the Pats were going to re-sign Randy.
The Falcons released Warrick Dunn. The owner had the nerve to talk about how, in his heart, Dunn will always be a Falcon.
What a way to say, "Thank You".
Dunn's been done, for a minute. ::) :-\Didin't he eclipse 1,000 yards in '06...and in '05? One sub-par season in a sham of an offense is not what I consider done.

Eagles sign Asante Samuel.
$57 million over six years.
Good move....
But we still need a big time receiver. :-\

Out of curiosity, do you happen to have access to his career ypc numbers? That means more to me than some of those other stats, since in ATL, he split carries with Vick, Duckett (when he was there), and that new kid. In TB, he deferred all the TD goal line runs to Alstott. He was also an asset, out of the backfield, receiving. Now, I'm not saying that his best days are not behind him. I just can't agree with the fact that he was "done" based upon what he worked with last year. I don't think that is a fair measuring stick.
"sham of an offense" :D :D :D :D
As well as '04, good sir.
In his career, Dunn's only had 5 1,000 yard seasons, albeit 3 of them with the Falcons. He did have two seasons of just over 900. That's ok, I guess.
His TD numbers are subpar, however, posting 9 in 2004 or 5, I believe.
Did you hear that his reps called the *gasp* DALLAS COWBOYS?!?!? :o
I question why they got rid of Lito Shepherd. :-\You sure bout that..?? I thought it was gonna be Samuel, Brown and Sheppard??
Brett Favre has decided to retire from the NFL after 17 seasons. My sentiments exactly! At least he was able to go out on a high note, instead of retiring the year before when he looked like a bum.
bout time!!!!

Defensive end Antwan Odom signed a five-year deal worth $29.5 million Monday night with the Cincinnati Bengals, their first move in free agency to fix their biggest problem.
That ain't there biggest problem. ::)So, what is their biggest problem? ;D ;)
Eagles sign Asante Samuel.Amen my friend....Aaaaaaaaamen!!!
$57 million over six years.
Good move....

So, what is their biggest problem? ;D ;)
Niiiiiiice!! ;D:D :D :D :D
:D :D :D :D
I sure hope their biggest problem isn't procrastination. (Inside joke)
speaking of dunn he actually hit the 10,000 yard rushing mark so thats good right?? wherever he goes he wont be the starter but he will get playing time i dont think hes done yet sometimes when a player change teams they play better or it rejuvenate them or something.
if the cowboys dont get mcfadden maybe they should consider dunn to go along with our favorite barbera ::)
I don't want to see the Cowboys get McFadden (too many off the field problems for my taste; reminds me of Pacman Jones :-\).
I'd like to see them get a quality CB or safety. I can't believe they let Jacques Reeves go. >:(
Man I can't believe that Marion Barber is leaving the Cowboys.....
Man........if dallas gives up barber.............ill cry lol but for real...........we should just get mendenhall from illinois. barber is not an absolute #1, not even in college(insert Laurence Maroney)..meaning that he is MUCH more effective with another back of his caliber. Dallas needs help at a lot of spots so they are gonna have to pick and choose what they do
T.J. Duckett is heading to the Seattle Seahawks with a five-year contract, the free agent running back told The Associated Press on Tuesday night.
this should be pretty good....
PPWWWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
For all of that, they might as well name Maurice Morris the starter next season. ::)
do yall really think chad will sit out if hes not traded???i do and do yall think that cincy will give in and trade him i know the redskins want him bad and the bucs could use him also ::)
If I'm Cincy, I'd want a boatload of money and/or premium draft picking status/position before I'd get rid of Chad....Co-sign!!
but, I'd get rid of Chad. :-\
Where are you getting this??Errytime ESPN talks about free agents they show Marion Barber running....so I just thought that he was leaving. My bad! Julius Jones is definitely gone though...Correct??
Barber isn't going anywhere. The 'Boys paid him the maximum tender offer. For teams to really try and get Barber, they'd have to pay a pretty penny (and/or give up their 1st and 3rd round draft picks).
Co-sign!!

Warren Sapp’s 13-year NFL career officially ended when his retirement was posted on the Oakland Raiders’ Web site.
Sapp said immediately after last season that he was through playing, but did not file the paper work. The posting on the team’s site was the first official word that the star defensive tackle was done.
hate to see him go.....
Not I.
Yes, JJ is gone.Hip Hip Hooooooooray!!! Hip Hip Hooooooorayyyy!! Now all we need to do is get rid of Roy Williams and get Deangelo Hall.. :P
Hip Hip Hooooooooray!!! Hip Hip Hooooooorayyyy!! Now all we need to do is get rid of Roy Williams and get Deangelo Hall.. :P
lol :D u funny man but yes sapp is done he had a great career until he went to oakland, sometimes i wonder is there something up with the raiders most of the time when a player go there the players stats go down the drain.
and thats weird cus just a few years ago they were in the superbowl and now they suck i hope javon walker have a good streak there ::)
eeeshamhiyah i want d.hall in dallas so bad we need him plus we have the number 21 jersey waiting for him
if we get dunn i think him and barbera would do good together dunn has the speed still he always has been one of the fastest rb in the game to me.he is 33 so maybe in the 2nd or 3rd round we should get another rb cus dunn dont have much left maybe 2 years max,but if we get tatum bell then we should be ok cus he was a solid back alot better than jj
Tatum Bell is TRASH!! If we get him, I'mma have ta kill Jerry Jones. >:(he a good back up!!

he a good back up!!
well see... Jon... he aint just TRASH.... he somebody... jus not a starter!!!
Tatum Bell is TRASH!! If we get him, I'mma have ta kill Jerry Jones. >:(
Agreed! Denver's Offensive line made him look better than what he's worth, which is why he did nada with the Lions.COSIGN this whole post.
As for Marion Barber, if y'all don't already know, I rep the GIANTS all day and twice on Thursdays... but that boy (Marion) is a problem. However, his running style will eventually take a toll on his body. Dude, needs "quick" help.
Seems like everyone who's made it to the cover of Madden gets hurt for at least a part of the season. With that in mind, I don't really care who makes it to the cover....as long as they're not a Steeler!
YES! I am so enjoying this threaddid the sarcasm come through enough

Tatum Bell is TRASH!! If we get him, I'mma have ta kill Jerry Jones. >:(Yeah I agree with the others, he may make a good backup...:-\
they should put tom brady on the cover so he can get hurt and we wouldnt have to worry about the patroits going to the super bowl or even coming close this seasoni cant stand the patroits :-*
yea i heard t.o. and l.t. declined to be on the cover in the pastI heard that too. but Vince Young was on the cover this year, and he did good. ;D ;D

maybe he will get better along with getting more weapons
and i hope j.russell is ready in oakland ?/?
So i guess he did suffer the Madden Jinx. ;D ;D ;D

do yall think the 49ers made a good move by signing issac bruce or do yall think hes done for????
I don't think he's a #1 WR the way he used to be. Perhaps, Darrell Jackson can produce the way he was expected to, last year. :-\
An upgrade at QB is NOT what the Niners really needed. They NEED a real QB. ::)
eagles interested in larry fitzgerald in a trade for lito sheppardThe Eagles need to do something about a receiver...Larry will be better than what they have now.
The Eagles cut Takeo Spikes
because he wouldn't take
a pay cut in some trade deal....
This dude was second in tackles on the team.
Why can't our front office just do right?? :-\
The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms with defensive end Jevon Kearse on Thursday.that was a good move. he shouldnt have never left
The 31-year-old was the Defensive Rookie of the Year after Tennessee made him the 16th overall pick in the 1999 draft.
OH YEA!!!!
that was a good move. he shouldnt have never left
Don't know, but I've always like Takeo Spikes. If the Cowboys can pick up Zack Thomas( ::)) then adding Spikes wouldn't be a bad deal. ;) :D
I like Kearse....
I loved him here in Philly.
A healthy Jevon Kearse can be a
serious problem for a quarterback.
But he gets hurt quite a bit. :-\
Troof. Talent means nothing on the IR. :-\COSIGN
pacman jones says he is in top shape and hes ready tp return to the nfl............FOR THE COWBOYS ?/?
If his skills haven't diminished AND he can stay OUT of trouble, he'd be a nice addition.
my bad. i just saw his stats ;DPlus, he got hurt. It wasn't a season-ending injury, but like all other Madden coverees, he got hurt, nonetheless.

the seahawks has signed julius jones so thats two rbs they sign so what does that mean for maurice morris and shaun alexander ?/? maybe they keep morris and let shaun go or release both ::)
Did I hear correctly that Kearse signed with the Titans?yes sir hes back where he started
somebody plz tell me this aint true torry holt going to the eagles??????? its a rumour but the rams are denying it :o
I haven't heard this rumor....I hope there is some truth to it!
If it's true, the Eagles suddenly become very dangerous.
the bucs are doing big things this off season and cadillac williams wants to play this year what yall think about that??? didnt they have to rebuild his knee or some crapIn my opinion, there will never be a "next" Barry Sanders. He was one of a kind, a truly rare talent.
the lions released kevin jones he was suppose to be the next barry sanders
::) that didnt work out
Dante Hall has signed with raiders 7yrs-$70mil.
Chad Johnson and T.J. Housh...........both have issues with cincy and Housh wants more money and chad wants to play with T.O. in dallas.
So, when is the funeral for D. Hall's career, now that he's a Raider? ::)the raiders defense aint that bad d.hall should be ok there now they have two shut down corners,u never know the raiders could be what the saints was two years ago the suprise team, and i hope j.russell is not 300lb :-[
If I were J. Jones, I'd rather have Housh. ;) 8)

if chad go to dallas i would be sooooo happy housh is good but chad is the better wr and chad made it clear on the nfl network he dont want cincy money he wants out
D. Hall........nice.
But we need some meat at DT!!!!
Maybe you should reposition J. Russell. ::)
hey sjohnathan02 lets hope we(cowboys) can get pacman jones cus newman is good but pacman can bring us a serious cb and we need him
The only thing that worries me is his off the field behavior. If he can curtail that, then I'd LOVE for the Cowboys to get him.let me guess if we get him he going to want a bigger deal than what d.hall just got i dont think jerry jones will dish out that much in guarenteed money he never did before

rams most likely is going to with the other long lolChad maynot get traded ... my opinion.
redskins offered cincy 1st round and both 3rd round picks for chad and they declined.do yall think chad will get traded eventually or no? boldin wants out of cardinals or new deal
yea chad better keep his moff shut. or he will be jus like T O.Just like him in what way? A game away from playing in his 2nd Superbowl?
Ol Shaun got the boot. But i think we should be looking at "ALL DAY" ( A peterson) this year. He may blow up and REALLY bring it.
Ahhhhh......
pacman is a COWBOY yyyyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :o
As a Cowboy fan, I'm not sure if I like this move. When he did play for the Titans, weren't they like ranked 30th in defense? And when he wasn't there, they were actually better?
I know the Dallas has had some shady folks in the pass but at the same time, they have proven for years and years that they were the best at what they do. I guess we shall wait and see.
Bruh, one man does not a team defense make. In his two NFL seasons, Pacman played in 30 gms with 115 tkls (94 solo), 18 pass deflections and 4 picks (one returned for a TD). As a returner, Pacman was FIYAH!! 63 PR for 712 yds and 4 TDs.
If that boy can stay OUT of trouble AND hasn't lost his natural football instincts, I'm liking this move, big time. ;)
I know doubting what you are saying. All I am saying is typically, in one year, if a team losses its best defensive player, they don't go from 32nd to 5th in defense.
plus its not a bug deal if pacman dont play this year the cowboys get there 4th round pick back so theres no lost for the cowboys there.i believe pacman is going to play his heart out and dont get in any more trouble,he knows this is his last chance
I think the Titans have made a mistake with letting him go. But I think that Pacman losing over $3 million dollars over the last year has gotten his attention. It's more of a public relations move for the Titans because the local Nashville media has taken him through the wringer. Things as minor as his being pulled over in his Lamborghini for speeding was at the top of the news and in the paper. Of course it was found that he had the wrong tags on his car, but that was resolved by simply paying a fine. But it was all over the news for a few days. It was ridiculous. How many people get pulled over for speeding and it makes the front page of the newspaper? And now that this Las Vegas issue has taken a different turn, no one is being apologetic for the slanderous things they have said about him. Yes, he put himself in certain situations that he should have been a little more discerning about, but he came into the league with a shadow over his head. But he is not the first, nor the last professional athlete to get into trouble for something.
As far as his on-field abilites, he was an excellent player. He made plays and guarded his man very well. he was a tackler, and a fierce competitor. As a player, I liked him. I liked him a lot. We'll see who he is replaced by and that will show whether or not this was a good move. Amybe a chane of scenery will be good for him. Terrell Owens will keep him on the straight and narrow.
bret farve will be on cover of madden 2009
bret farve will be on cover of madden 2009Wat was rong wit Eli?? Now yall know he wanna get bac into the game. I think he was chose so he wont be forgotten of his years in the league.
Well, being retired, at least he won't be subject to the "Madden jinx".
if the ravens get matt ryan will he be the starter automatically or should the ravens give troy smith a shot first?????Troy Smith showed that he could play with the big boys, so I think he deserves a shot. Of course, being a Steeler fan, I kinda hope any and every Ravens QB crashes and burns. lol
and do the raiders need mcfadden i mean they have jordan, fargas, rhodes and bush??????????
Troy Smith showed that he could play with the big boys, so I think he deserves a shot. Of course, being a Steeler fan, I kinda hope any and every Ravens QB crashes and burns. lol
woah woah woah now i like the steelers too but lets not talk that way the only team that qbs is going to crash and burn is the atl falcons cus they have no qbs lol ;DDon't get me wrong, I actually like Troy Smith. And, if he weren't in the AFC North, I'd wish him much success. ;D

im glad willie parker is back they said last week he ran a 4.4 for his trainers and he aint even 100% yet so i wonder how fast he is when he is 100%Yeah, I'm also glad that he's back. Davenport filled in pretty well in his absence.
if the ravens get matt ryan will he be the starter automatically or should the ravens give troy smith a shot first?????

I think the Ravens should stay away from Matt Ryan........or be doomed to continue in the merry-go-round of QBs in the future.
And no I don't think the Raiders need Mcfadden........that would be one of those "let's see what happens" picks!
Does anyone watch day two of the draft? :) I actually only watch like the first 10 picks of day one.
I missed the entire draft this year; there wasn't much to discuss. But, usually, I watch the first round.
Does anyone watch day two of the draft? :) I actually only watch like the first 10 picks of day one.I kept up wit it Sat. and Sun
I have to admit, when linemen are at the top of the draft, its not very exciting.

Shockey traded to Saints (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=txgiantsshockey&prov=st&type=lgns)
Looks like neither team won in this deal. The fact that he was traded for a 2nd and 5th round pick shows that neither team has much faith in his future dominance at the position in the future.
I definitely think it's a win for Shockey. As a result, it may be a win for the Saints because one's attitude is the biggest determining factor of one's performance. His attitude will be renewed, so we'll see. For the record, I always thought he was overrated.
