Saw a lengthy blurb about an new book she is endorsing, that is basically a totally anti-christ doctrine. From what I read,it is a rehash of what Joseph Smith's teaching that there was NO fall,no original sin,so no need for a SAVIOR -JESUS.The preacher with the glass house is also supposedly coming out for it.Has anyone heard of this book? Any doubt the end is near ?? read 2nd THES www.wayofthemaster.com be blessed

1. Where's the lengthy blurb?
2. What's the title and author of the book?
3. When did she "endorse" this book?
4. Who is this preacher with the glass house?
5. Where's the link to this preacher's endorsement?
This thread sure leaves me with a lot of questions... :-\ ?/?

Amen....
however, I realize the great influence Oprach has on people, but when it comes to Christ, what Oprah says don't mean nothing to me. She doesn't seem to really KNOW Him!

Didnt last year oprah say that there is more than one way to get to heaven? I knew she was crazy then.

Everytime I hear that woman try to speak on religion, she is soooo far off base it is rediculous. I don't even watch her show anymore.

she aint crazy. the kno dern well, if she takes a stance on a single thing she'll lose a lota support.

Well, on Judgement day, we have to take a stance on a single god, and if we dont, we will lose all of our support

I seen an interview last year of her former pastor. He said Oprah was okay "in his opinion" until she started cashing in immensely from her career. He said that the richer she became the less he would see her, until now he don't see her at all. "It's one thing to give ten percent of you income to the church. Many people would reconsider their walk and belief when their ten percent start climbing into the millions..."

Do you think there's a posibility that she's saved and just says what she says on the show to keep her advertisers happy? I don't watch Oprah but I'm just saying that she's running a business and may not be expressing her personal beliefs.

Whatever the reason, she's not taking a stand. I heard her say that there are many ways to heaven. Uh, Oprah, Jesus is the only way!!! If she not taking a stand to appease people, then she is still doing that---not taking a stand---thusly, denying Christ. What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?

I agree with you but I think talk show people and politicians should either not have a public stance on religion or deal with the possible consequence of taking a stance.

Either way, I'm not fond of it (the sentiment of the statment). But, that's another thread for another time. :-\

Oprah is just confused. I know there is a Bible verse that talks about all these talk show hosts, something along the lines of them talking much but understanding little. This is what i see in these talk show hosts, they see so much, hear so much that they become somewhat distant from what is going on in front of their very eyes.
I mean, look at Larry King. This guy has interviewed pastors, preachers, you name it. He even interviewed Tammy Faye before she passed away. That interview made me cry and gave me cause to rethink my priorities. Oprah herself has interviewed and talked to so many people who have gone through remarkable trials and come out thanking God and all she usually does is sigh and nod her head and announce the next guest on the show.
Someone needs to start praying for these talk show hosts. They have become dull and used to seeing so much that it does not touch them.
-

That 's one reason why I don't think I'd want to be in the public eye like that. You just about have to be numb to certain things because it can affect your ability to do your job.

dude is just mad cuz he's not getting $22,000,000 a year in tithes.
But often times we do think like that. We dont mind giving 10% of $100,000, but when it turns into $1,000,000. because that just seems like too much to be 'giving away'

Oprah likes to give away things that really aren't hers like new cars.
-
Trust me Oprah gives to more people than 10 percent of her income... Luke 6:38 says give and it shall be given. It didn't put a cap or restraint on giving. It's funny how theology of the centuries created the law of tithes.... I'll stop there. Oprah and many people in her tax bracket have very little use for GOD in their own mind. Oprah endorses so much junk that ain't no where near spiritual. That's her. She's a talk show host... What do you expect.

This hardly a "new" gospel. The term "spirituality" is very widely used in our world and it does not neccesariy mean that a persosn is of the Christian faith. In fact, I would venture to say that it glorifies man more than God. I've heard Oprah say on many occasions something to the effect of there being many paths that lead to the mountain top and while this in and of itself does not preclude the possiblity that she may be a Christian, it is incompatible with a Biblical world view. For years, there have been people who have held this view of religion including some well-meaning Christians. Compre this line of thinking to the words of Jesus: "I am THE way, THE truth, and THE light. No man comes to the Father but by me". I know several people who are of the Muslim faith as well as others who maintain that they are Christian who hold this pantheistic view that all religions are equal and valid paths to attaining "spirituality" and finding God. In fact, I work with a sweet lady from India who isof the Hindu faith and frequently greets me with a very sincere "God bless you". All you can really do is take it at face value with the understanding that her Hindu god (or gods actually) is not the same God of Bible whom I serve.

your right funk! anti-christ is anti-christ! PRO-CHRIST is just CHRIST!Just shows how the serpent never changes but transforms as "angel of light to deceive many" .What i had gleaned from the e-mail was another assault on why we need a savior.these guys explain it best www.wayofthemaster.com

agreed. speak your peace.

I comment fully later but the historical reference of tithes has been long left out in the modern church. I expounded on some of these truths in past threads but a brother gotta punch the clock but I promise to share some of the info later in the PM. Peace....

One thing about Oprah is that she is a giver. I think we can all look at her example. I think that's part of the reason why she is blessed BUT ... I think there's no way that you can be that popular without compromising in some form or fashion.
I know when BeBe and CeCe were on there a while back they had to sing their sing without "Jesus" in it. They sang the alternate version. Personally, I would have had to pass on the invitation. Our whole entire Gospel is based on Jesus, he's the only way to the father. To take him out it a travesty of the greatest proportions.
I knew she was on that "I'm spiritual" tip when she kept having Iyanla VanZant on there. People don't research things so they'll just take someone like Oprah's word for it. That's what's so dangerous. I read up on Ms. VanZant and found out that she was a Yoruba Priestess. She's on the "Spiritual" thing too. To be "SPIRITUAL" in the sense of the world doesn't mean anything. There are all of kinds of different spirits, good and bad.
-

Its never a problem when someone mentions or prays to thier 'god', but when you mention the name of Jesus folks look at you like crazy.
-
Right, and whenever they use phrases like "The Creator" or "The Higher Power" or "The Man Upstairs" that's some bull. It's JESUS. No other name is higher than that name.
-

I think the vast majority of Oprah's audience is not really trying to hear about Jesus for real. They watch Oprah to get some sort of self assuring message. You feel better and then you're good. I guess Oprah is kinda like their god.

What does oprah usually talk about on her show?
-
I think Oprah is more like a Self-Help guru. Kinda' like Dr. Phil. I rarely watch it but my roommate loves it so she's always taping it. She has a lot of celebrities on there talking about their recent projects and she has people discussing trying times in their lives.
I think that without Jesus or the bible it's all just self-help. But the irony is that there's no help without him. I've been to churches where they are more talking about self-help and less about Jesus. It's that's watered down word so they won't offend anyone.
You're right, she is like a God to some people. Whatever she says goes. She has power which can be used for good or for ill. She does a lot of good with her power but if Jesus isn't a part of it it's just good, not God.
-
Unfortunately Oprah is leading many of her follows a stray. I just checked to see if they did what they said they were going to do on her XM satellite broadcast and they did.
Starting on January 1, 2008 they started a year long course on the New Age teaching of A Course in Miracles.
This is a pretty good article:

This is true and a lot of people don't really want the answers to lives problems, they just want to feel better. Now granted, sometimes feeling better about a situation is the only thing you can do but most of the time we find ourselves in situations that we either put ourselves in or allowed them to happen. Personally, I don't just want to feel better, I want to be better.

The new age Jesus doesn't care if you acknowledge him or not. And the new age Jesus does change depending on how much pubilc outrage there is.

Thats cuz his name is a stumbling block and a rock of offense to those who are unbelieving.

You make and excellent point.
When i see things like that, i just think one thing...confusion. I also did a quick Google search and found out that she had led a hard life full of emotional and physical abuse fro her family and husband.
This is a classic story of a woman who, through evil that has happened in her life, has lost her sense of identity. She supposedly finds it in a way that is outside of God. Its so sad.
She is following a religion that is heavily steeped in the occult. The basic role of the priestess is to communicate with the gods through spirits.
What is sad about the Yoruba religion is that there is an overall God who has no form, no idol and is all loving and benevolent to us Humans. God has indeed left his mark with ALL of mankind even though we, as Romans 1 states, had decided to worship the creator rather than the created.
The enemy has hit us with the same old okey-doke over the centuries, making us believe that we cannot have access to God except through His creations. This is what Jesus came o destroy.
I will not be surprised if this woman is heavily into occultic things. She may smile and be humorous and funny and make people fell good about themselves, but what it boils down to is deception. She may not have known what she was getting into, but one cannot continue along that path without getting deeper and deeper into the occult.
Sadly this is what Oprah and many other talk show hosts are unwittingly and unknowingly exposing people to.

Being that Tramaine is on my Top 5 Female Vocalists list, I was very disappointed that they had her singing background vocals on the song that SHE made famous! LOL!!! I mean, no slight to Pastor Shirley - Lord knows I love her, but at least let Tramaine get a lick or two on it... geez... :-\
I just figured there was some contractual reason or something like that... :-\

I am a man of my word so I logged back on after work to expound more on the deception of "tithes" being a religious requirement in the church. Historically conquered nations paid a tribute of ten percent to their conquerors. Abraham instituted the tithe not God. Abraham which is the patriarch of Judaism paid a tenth of the spoils of a battle that rescued a relative.(I believe it was LOT found in the book of Genesis) Abraham declared that he didn't want any person to say that another man had made him rich and successful in battle. So Abraham gave a tithe to Melchezidek. Years later Jacob promises GOD that he would tithe to GOD for revealing himself to him as he did his fathers... Notice it didn't say GOD required that. He made this vow to God because his fathers before him practiced tithing... Many religious leaders have falsely labeled Melchezidek a type of Christ. The bible never calls him that. It only referred to him as a priest of the most High God. Notice it didn't mention Jehovah or Yahweh. Melchezidek is mentioned in the Quran too but we want go there...
Little lamb mentioned Luke 6:38. One must highlight the scripture in its entirety. The scripture highlights the system of men giving to each other. It never says that God would pay people who gave. It says that men would give into our bossoms when we give.. Jesus said that it is more blessed to give than to recieve. So where is the validity of giving to get? Jesus gave his life and not ten percent of it. The gentile Christians were defended by Paul for not following Jewish Custom!! Peter and the Jewish christian church wanted new gentile converts to observe all of the law of Moses and believe in Christ. It is written that he who attempts to keep the law is obligated to do so without making a mistake. Tithing was reintroduced after Constantine the emperor made Christianity the state religion. He appointed wicked Bishops who loved power, influence and money. Many of these men where scholars of the Hebrew customs... They misrepresented the tithe as currency thus creating the notion that the tithe was currency!!! THe early church had many people sell there houses, businesses and other valued possessions to further the cause of evangelism.... That more than ten percent. People selling all of their goods were not uncommon...
There is a distinct demonic assignment for people to take "biblical principles" and reintroduce them to a world that is ignorant of bible teaching. Oprah doesn't tithe in church but she's not cursed. You can bet your bottom dollar that on any given Sunday that certain leaders in the church will terrorize their members with a polarizing doctrine bf being cursed if they don't tithe. Malachi 3 is one of the most misquoted scriptures in the bible. Preachers have substituted the grain, oxen and other perishiable goods a currency.(money) Why would God tell the jewish church to keep a storehouse full of money? Doesn't it make more sense to keep perishable items such as grain and farm animals? The priest and tithers were cursed because they gave animals that were sick to the store house. They were cheating the poor who would need those goods should the nation have to call upon those rations to survive.
The poor of the Hebrews didn't tithe!!!! Does the poor of our day have to tithe or risk being cursed? Most people think that they are in right fellowship with God only because they tithe!!! The same can be said about celeberties who run foundations that benefit many worthy causes around the world. No they don't tithe to a ministry but they are recognized as good people. The year of jubilee is when all of the poor of Isreal were released from debts they couldn't pay. This is where the bankruptcy laws get their roots. Notice how people who file bankruptcy have bad credit seven years!!! The difference in their system and the modern system is that the hebrew nation started you over and didn't keep pegged as a bad credit risk!!! Now the church as morphed into this self serving and self absorbed dying oraganism that touts the same spirituality religions mask as Christian principles. People are more concerned with their next dimension, destiny, purpose, and next level of "success". All of these things are connected. The church is in now moral position to bash many of these secular movements. Lord knows we been through ours... More on that later too..
I know that many will not except these references. L Ray Smith wrote a great commentary highlighting these bible truths. Wikipedia Melchezidek. Read the entire book of Genesis... You will not find a type of Christ language no where in there... Sorry for the long post but I must compensate for us not being able to expound upon ideas without the benefit of seeing each other in person... PEACE...

Lets Kill all this once and for all, we know that Jesus said in John 14:6
"I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life, no one cometh unto the Father but by Me"
Very simple, not saying Christianity is a religion but no other Guru, religions, factions or whatever makes this claim, its like they all wanna be buddy buddy with each other claiming there are different ways to God, (Its funny, but notice how the majority of them do acknowlege a higher power..hmmm?) The only one they seem to question is the JESUS WAY, it is not a coincidence that Jesus use the WAY, the TRUTH, then LIFE, in that order, simply put, If the way aint Jesus and living Jesus's way then you aint gettin to heaven point blank, without the the path to truth, you cant have truth, with out the truth, or acknowleging the truth as we do when we get saved the there's no life eternally, thats why He said "straight is the way and narrow is the path" because He knew that it would be difficult for many to accept even though its so simple, Paul said it too, in 1st Cor Chapter 1 verse 27 (using the simple thing to confound the wise)
So in a nut shell we as Christians should pray for these people, and hope they come to the way which would point them to the truth which would give them life...see...we need to stop pacifying people, if its wrong its wrong.

...Oprah is no less confused than some of us!....The problem is not that she is confused....It is where she goes in search of the answer!....

I think the vast majority of Oprah's audience is not really trying to hear about Jesus for real. They watch Oprah to get some sort of self assuring message. You feel better and then you're good. I guess Oprah is kinda like their god.
Sounds like Lakewood church to me...LOL

This is true and a lot of people don't really want the answers to lives problems, they just want to feel better. Now granted, sometimes feeling better about a situation is the only thing you can do but most of the time we find ourselves in situations that we either put ourselves in or allowed them to happen. Personally, I don't just want to feel better, I want to be better.
You preachin doc!

That was a pretty terrible thing to say, FM... I'm surprised at you. :-\ :-[
And as for Oprah's audience... I mean... :-\
Oprah is a secular celebrity who hosts a secular talk show on a secular station discussing mostly secular subjects... of course her audience isn't there to hear about Jesus. If they wanted to hear about Jesus, they would go someplace that's known for talking about Jesus. Like, church, for example... They watch Oprah for entertainment, self-help, education, encouragement, knowledge... not to hear a word from the Lord. If she makes them feel better, GOOD. There's nothing wrong with feeling better... or with being better... and if you actually LEARN something from her show, and apply it, then you ARE being better...
And for the record, I don't watch her show, and I'm not a fan. I have nothing against her, though... just not into that show.

Oprah is boring.

You're right...but I won't turn this into a discussion about Osteen. I do love his motivational stuff though.
