Hi Everyone,
God bless and PAAAARRRAAAAISSE THE LORD! To cut to the chase and not draw this out to a long boring question. I wrote 4 songs that I believe God gave me in times of distress in my life. They're songs of encouragement and of trusting Him when you're going through. The songs are complete and I have the music in my head!! lol!! my problem is that I'm a singer and I don't know how to play the keyboard. (I'm in the process of trying to learn) I've learned enough to play some chords to show how they sound musically, so I'm getting some help from a friend that plays. My question is how do I go from this stage to someday getting it into a CD? I have no clue!!! Just need suggestions, ideas, direction.

you need to get with a musician who can play exactly what you feel the music should do then write a lead sheet so that other musicians can read it (bass, guitar, vocalists, etc) and try to relate it to a song they already know to get the style right. Start practicing the song with other musicians and singers (preferably experienced) and once it's down the way you want it, slap it on a CD. My church has recording equipment along with live sound but you can find a small studio to record and if it's already perfect it shouldn't take too much studio time. Then just "push" it (advertise i.e. play it in church, concert events, special services, etc)...i know it sounds easy on paper but it's gonna take a lot of time and effort but you'll find that it's sooo rewarding once you get it done. Make sure its a musician you can trust. Because someone can sure steal your songs or your ideas(melodies). If you know someone that can do the whole demo CD for you you would be even better off.
