Title: Going on back to church to praise the Lord

A choir member mentioned this song that he had heard some years ago, but didn't know the author or singer(s) of the song. It was a touching song from the past.   The title is; Going on Back to Church(to Praise the Lord).  Some of the words are;
I went to church one day, 
And met satan on the way. 
He tried so hard to turn me around,
he turned me around before.
But he won't turn me back no more.
Going on back to church to serve the Lord. 

Have you heard of this song?  If so how does the melody go?  Or who recorded it?  Thanks for any help.

I don't know, J. Ty.  This person just stated that he had heard it in his past, and it touched him in a powerful way.  I thought someone here might know it or who sung it.  I wanted to have our choir to do the number. Does it ring a bell with you?

I don't know the chords for that song, but I do know that the song is by the Canton Spirituals out of Ohio...

And the title is indeed, "Going on back to church"...

Thanks so much everybody.  I found the song. It is by the Canton Spirituals.  The reason that I hadn't been able to find it is that the title does not have an "on" in it.  It is just "going back to church".  The lyrics do say "going on back to church"  I looked under the Cantons and found it. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks anyway, J Ty.  If you hadn't responded to the post after a period of time, Jeansan42 might not have seen it and responded.  We are working on the song now hopefully for the first Sunday.   Again, thanks to all.
