If he has to lift it to use it, why can't you let it down and use it.  My girl and I, we fight about this daily

Indeed!

What kinda person would sit on a bare toilet just because they don't want to let the seat down!

;D ;D ;D

...but anyway. I don't have that problem. I lift it if I need to, and my wife lets it down if she needs to.

Fortunately I was trained from a young child to have a good aim with not even lifting the toilet seat, so my wife and I have no issue.

In the middle of the night, only half awake... you'd be surprised.

I'm so glad my nephew has his own bathroom, though I must admit his aim has gotten much better since he started cleaning it himself, lol.

So yall actually sit on the toilet without looking at it first? When I had to share a bathroom, I'd always make sure the seat was clean and dry before I sat.

I don't have a problem with it unless it is at night! But I also feel that the toilet seat being down is a defalt setting! I would think you can aim with the seat down, if you try.  :D :D :D :D

I can get with the default setting thing. Actually I think the toilet "looks" better with the cover down too! Close the seat and the cover and you BOTH have to raise it. There. Problem solved.

You just have to work harder, since you get to sit down--relaxing while you do it--anyway.

Ok, well I can agree with you on that....PUT THEM BOTH DOWN! Make both the sexes have to lift the lid! My mom does this....and this caused a problem for me one night when I was sick! Yeah...exactly!

Only thing is in one of our bathrooms, we have to leave the cover up, because we haven't trained the cat to lift it yet. ;D ;D

I'm wondering if I'll have to retrain him once we move. :(

Yea. I made a post about it in the past. I'm sure everyone doesn't want to read about the whole thing again.

My wife is happy about it though. She was skeptical that I'd be able to do it at first. When we get a dog, I'm going to train him to go there too! ;D ;D Sweet! Obviously, it'll have to be a small one.

I know my parents don't use the same bathroom...so the seat situation isn't a problem at all!

I was thinking when I get married, I'll just install a urinal, lol.

I see I can't get no understanding from the dudes about the middle of the night run to the restroom, I really don't have the awareness at that time of night.  It's okay, though, because I don't understand y'all either... like what do you do if you have to do "both", lol.  Do you stand and then sit? Vice versa? Sit the whole time?  If you sit the whole time, what's the point of a urinal?  So many questions...

I really don't want to know the answer... I just don't, LOL.

Is your bed ever wet when you wake up?  lol

If I'm really sleeping good, I try to hold it but eventually, I have to get up.  I don't get up during the night a lot, but it does happen, lol.

They got electronic toilet seats that automatically let down after each use.  It does some other things as well that I won't mention here.  I'm gonna get one of those and that will solve the whole problem.  But knowing women, then I'll have to hear "why didn't you leave the lid up?"

You can aim in the dark?  Man, you're cool, lol.

I always turn on the light and get that squinty eyed look while trying to adjust, that's probably why I'm not paying attention to whether the seat is up or down.  Oh well, alas, I have my own bathroom and no longer have to worry about that war.

Actually another method (it only works for like 5-10 seconds) is look at the toilet and flash the light.  If gives you a quick glow of the room.

We use toilet fresheners, so we don't flush at night. Saves water charges, and helps the environment.

Really, unless you're dropping logs or you've eaten something foul, you don't have to flush every single time. It's a waste of water. We flush 2-3 times a day for our cats bathroom.

That's nasty. Is there a water shortage in you country? Urine stinks too. The last thing I wanna smell in the morning is 3 peoples worth of piss.

I wont even get started on the fact that your cat has his own bathroom. We might just have to revoke your black card.

We use toilet fresheners. It doesn't stink, believe me. If it did, we would flush. We just don't make it a point to flush EVERY single time.

The cat can't flush on his own, so we have to do it. His toilet also uses fresheners, so you can't smell anything once it's inside the water, unless you stick you head in the bowl. No one does that.

You can save water by changing the water level of the toilet.

That too.

When we were in the States, we put bricks in the reservoir or bent the float his isn't our stuff and these people want to charge you when you move out. We had to pay $1500 dollars to the landlord for utility over usages, in our last house....and it wasn't because we had our heat up to 80 degrees! Utilities here are expensive.

What was he doing to that left the toilet Bloody?

Or were you just swearing?

Please refer to the quote below for the answer to your question.

I'm gonna assume here that bloody is that UK expletive and it wasn't actually bloody.  Yeah that's it.

BTW its not an expletive in the same way the F or S words are expletives. Its more of an exclamation.

I had someone try to 419 me. I hacked his email account and actually found replies from people sending their bank information. People are always trying to get rich quick. I like how you guys are able to save money, and make something out of yourself from nothing. A lot of people in my church came from "the village". No running water. No lights. If they did have lights, it was off most of the time because the city's power system sucked. But then I know some that grew up in the city, and they look at the other's like (http://img116.exs.cx/img116/934/z0tdntknw.gif) especially the South Africans and Kenyans. And you guys do this with only help from family and friends, because the government doesn't give you ANYTHING! But anyway. I wish Blacks in America were as determined as you guys are. IMO, we, in general, are too hungry for a quick fix or someone to hand us something.

I got one of those emails telling me that he got my info from a friend of mine that worked at he British Embassy.  NOw c'mon, I don't know NOBODY that works at the British Embassy.

Now I really love the ones that I got that told me that God sent this person my way and with God's blessing we can both have a better life.  With all of the money I have been offered through that scheme, if it was legit, I'd be a billionaire.

A young lady not too far from here went to prison for falling for one of those schemes.  She got caught holding the bag for about $75,000.  She pleaded for leniency trying to use her family as the reason.  I didn't feel the least bit sorry for her because she was very, very stupid.

Glad you said that.

I look at things this way. Blacks in America (great movie title BTW) have been enslaved and down-trodden for so long that it is hard for a lot of them to overcome the covert racism that is still running through most of America, especially corporate America.

Nigerians on the other hand have not experienced slavery before. They cannot comprehend that someone would look down on them and view them as no less than slaves. I will admit that there is a reverential view of the "white man" in Nigerians. However, the motivation is to be LIKE that "white man".

Yes we were colonized by the British, but we were never forcefully enslaved in our own land. What drives a lot of Nigerians to be the very best that they believe they should be.

That is the reason for a lot of success in the Nigerian community in America.

Indeed. And I think this is what we don't understand.

My wife just threw in the towel with a lot of our church members. She's friendly and all, but she, and some of the other Americans in our church, just doesn't understand their thinking.

See that is the sad thing. Our two cultures should come together and encourage one another and strengthen one another. Instead we misunderstand and harbor a mutual lack of trust towards each other. Africans look down on AAs cuz they feel there is no excuse and that they are just lazy. AAs will look down on Africans cuz they feel we are too uppity and are no better than some jungle savage.

I cannot tell you the number of times i have been asked if i have beds in Africa or if i see a lion on y way to school in Nigeria.

LOL on a side note there are 2 completely parallel conversations going on in this thread. My fault really. ;D

I pick with Africans about the lion thing, just because I know the answer! LOL! At first though....

Some of my church members have gotten into fights with Americans over these disagreements. Usually, it was an American that started it. They'll call the African "jungle" something, and then it's on. Out comes the machete! ;D ;D I just start laughing! You can see the determination in their eyes, these dudes start getting physically upset again. I remember one lady sat outside our church just to fight another lady because she had said something wrong to her during service....but this happens with African Americans too.

I was surprised that they told me it's rare to see a gun in Nigeria. The Nigerians are the crazy ones with guns. When I say I want to visit South Africa, they say "Ham Mercy! You will get shot, now!" But anyway.

There are two different discussions going on. But you guys crack me up! I can't wait to see how it REALLY goes down, when we move to Africa in a few years. I know you guys are holding back on me!

OMG you too???

In any case you'd be surprised how there are very few Nigerians who have held a gun in their hands. I mean, what for?

As for that "now" thing, i don't even know where that came from. We say it at the end of almost every sentence. Either that or "o," as in, "You will get shot-o". LOL funny sturves.

You'll have a blast in Africa, things are so much cheaper than here and you'll live like a king. :D :D

Exactly-O!!! Dude you guys have me cracking up! Sometimes I just watch them talk, and then they stop and laugh when they see me looking, because they know I'm trying to learn their dialect! I even learned a few Igbo phrases, but I haven't delved into the language too much. I'm learning Swahili. It's much easier.
