Hey, did you guys see voices of unity dvd with detrick haddon? It's amazing to me what we accept as worship sometimes. Does God accept it? hmmmmm. I thought Tonex's fruits were shown when he started to cuss like crazy just the other day. WHat is he doing on a worship dvd? If a person can sing or play, do we just accept it as ministry. What about our lifestyle.
TOnex sounds just like his mentor Prince on this album. Are these the gospel "STARS" we emulate. We are to work out our own Salvation with fear and trembling. Is the devil subtly trying to take our young people.
What do you guys think?

It's one thing to discuss God and worship and another to say somebody shouldn't be on a DVD. Who are we to say who's on what? I could care less if I heard someone cussing, I cuss when I'm in a crazy enough situation haha.
I'm disgusted at today's "Gospel" scene. It's nothing more than another Hollywood act in the name of Jesus.

In response to the original post...I didn't see the dvd. However, it's a fine line between speaking of someone else's relationship with God and judgement. I don't know where Tonex is in his walk. I'm not the judge. I pray for him and hope for the best. Personally, I don't look to "gospel celebrities" for examples of how to live. They're human, just like each of us here. Every example and every solution we need is in the Bible.

Why are we so obsessed with other people's worship? We need to worry about ourselves, and let God Determine if his or anybody else's worship is for real. Use all the energy that you waste worrying about celebrities and use it to improve your life.

Dude who are we to say who should be on what?......Freakin "church" people judge people by ones mistakes and then bring it up whenever they are ministering or finally get back up spiritually...you think all those preachers and singers up there are perfect?.....you don't know them behind the scenes...I'm tired of people condemming people when they mess up......then you hear them say that they shouldn't be up there or shouldn't be doing this and that..etc.....No one is perfect man and Tonex just happened to have a bigger audience to see when he messed up.....how about let's worry about ourselves and just pray for others??....it's a struggle to live in holiness......when we mess up let's just get back up......let's make sure we have a heart thats truly repented before God....

Let's look at the big picture...
Church folk, The Urban Church particularly, Gospel "fans" are not supporting the giftings and ministries locally nor in the industry. Religiousity, personal insecurities, lack of vision, jealousy, envy and laziness have caused all too many of us to turn on and condemn the greatness of God through our brotheren. The heaviness of being on the "front line" sometimes requires us to look past the bumps, bruises and dirt to the purpose and intent God placed in us (and the people he allows or we choose to be in front of us).
We have put religious limits on Spiritual giftings. Music lives and breathes but todays church is so afraid to work toward greatness, to work toward perfection, to seek wisdom and knowledge in all their endeavors that we condemn things to be "show" which we don't understand. We use "flowing in the Spirit" as an excuse for lack of preparedness and having a plan plainly written on tables for others to run with it.
Why when we see folk walking with authority over their God-given abilities to we question their Spiritual Qualifications and Salvation. Ministry means Service not Preachy, Oh the glory... ceremonial, placated traditionalism that we endure week in and week out. We complain that we have no Christian outlets for entertainment refuse to acknowledge the gifts God placed and allows in our midsts and try to regulate the message he may be sending through "x" man/woman and the gifting steward.... or should be STEWARDS (caretakers) of. We will not allow God the opportunity to speak through a "donkey" these days. We will not seek out a teacher/mentor (our Elijah) and if by chance we find him we don't stay the course 'until he is caught up' so that we get a double portion. We don't even recognize any joy set before us and really have no intention of enduring any cross because we are not willing to run any race for fear of sweating our brand name facades.
Let's commit to mastering the talents which the Master gave us and multiplying them... Let's show ourselves workmen able to rightly divide the truth of our endeavors... Let us inspire one-anothers "babies to leap"... make some dry bones live... Go to Neniva with having to go through the (like Jonah) we "prejudged"... Let us learn the "laws"/standards of our craft so that great men should see the light. Sometimes we let our lack of will-power place limitations and misperceptions on others. We all need to learn our roles as musicians and then as ministers then work diligently to mature in those positions of rincrease our fus a better vantage point of discernment.

I haven't watch the DVD but in my opinion, whatever we do ora say, in the end of the day, God will judge us accordingly. Certain things doesn't appear to be like what we think. I agree with SabianKnight, let us check ourselves. Nothing is hidden before God's throne.

And another thing... the question I would ask is "is the devil subtly trying to trick Christians into thinking their sin is not as bad as other folks' sin, so they're righteous enough to talk about what other people did... way back when...." ::) ::)
