Excellent work, VT!!! And the choir sounds great, too! And the video quality was good... lol. :D
Congrats on a good day!
-
Aight now CHIORMASTER EXTAORDINAIRE!!!!
Nice work!
-
Choirmaster, we are not worthy...(LOL) Man great clip.
I can't bend like that. The saints would have heard a big POP and I would have instantly collapsed on the floor... ;)
-
Great work, VT! The choir sounds awesome, man. :)
-
Impressive, most impressive!

While I was listening to "The Invitation," I was kind of losing interest in the beginning, to be honest. But when you made that transition at 2:06, it was on point!
"Do You Know Him" was just FIRE! I loved those alternating choir parts. Watching your hands point to the different sections was starting to make me dizzy. :D I also gotta give props to the tambourine player in the front row! ;D The only downside was that I really couldn't understand anything the choir was saying. But I'm also not familiar with this song of Hez.
But overall, like sjon said, it was very impressive! ;D ;D Nice work.
-
OMG Takuya!!! What a handsome young man you are! I love the pic; I can't believe we finally got to see YOU instead of some Simpsons dude... lol
And back on subject, I like your "review" of the clips, and I agree that the tambourine player definitely deserved props! :D
-
Awesome!!! I got tired just by watching you on the Hez clip :D
-
*goes to get VT some oxygen, then takes some for myself*
Man, I'm out of breath just watching you! I wasn't even watching the choir, because i was looking at you! :D :D Excellent. I definitely need to get you guys here for my next concert in July.

Thanks guys for all of the positive comments. Please don't forget to rate the videos ;)

Very nice overview.
As far as the Invitation, there really is no way to spruce up that song during the beginning :)

Man!!
I'm very impressed. Now can I get some specifics ( because when I see good choirs, I want to know details on what they do to prepare).
1. Is this a choir that you started, I sem to remember reading somewhere that you were beginning something like that.
2. How often do you guys ( with this choir) practice, and how long is a practice session.
3. How do you select music.
4. How does the band get tight ( is there a seperate musician's rehearsal). Do they get music before you present it to the choir.
5. The voices in this choir are tight. Do you pass out CD's for them to learn, or do you give them their notes dirung rehearsal? Have you ever had to modify a song to get it in their range (although they seem to have a great range already).
Not trying to highjack the thread, so if you want, you can hit me up with the answers via PM. Sorry to be so nosy.

Not hijacking at all, sir.
1. This is the college gospel choir that I've been a part of since I started at Tech. I have put my visionary choir on hold for multiple reasons. One being that the college choir has decided to implement a lot of the new things I was starting with my choir, thus no longer having a need for two choirs in such a small town.
2. This choir practices every Thursday night, from 630-830
3. Concert music is selected by the music committee board, which consists of section leaders, directors, and musicians. The entire choir nominates songs, and the Music Committee votes on them. Because there are so many hands in the pot, I plan on changing this way next semester.
4. The band had 3 Saturday musicians' rehearsals. The band finds out the songs the same time it is revealed to the choir (in reference to the concerts). The chair then picks the musicians to play on which song so no one is overloaded and everyone has ample opportunity to get their songs ready.
5. Because we are on a heavy technology campus, CDs are made, and songs are put on a server for the choir members to retrieve. I rarely modify songs only because it throws off people when listening to a song they may know by heart but sounds weird because it's in a different key. I usually throw out songs that don't fit the choir's mold on the front end.
Thanks for the kind words, man.

Indeed, I am proud of you son. ;) ;D

Now, I've had clothing and other items pop off while directing but have never been led to shed the jacket and tie. That was off the chain, my friend. What would have capitalized on the dip, was if you had first put on a long Matrix jacket a la Ricky Dillard: Unplugged. That would have set the place OFF!!!
