Most guitar players tap their feet when they play, I do not do anything! I just play. I was in PA, Sunday for service and they had a guitar player their who was very good! And he tap his feet and also tap the guitar.
-
I'm always moving some part of my body when I play. It just seems natural to me to do so.
-
I don't do anything because my drumer can not stay at the same pace! it's fast, faster, very fast, drives me crazy!!!! he's fast on slow songs!!

He/she would have to sit down! Our drummer used to be that way. He's got really happy hands (plays the quints in marching band). We use an MPC for some of our songs now if we have a program already made up.
To get back to the original question though, I usally move something while I play. I think I do a Earth, Wind, Fire type of rock if I'm really into it. (oops, did I say that out loud?) :-\
-
I normally tap my foot as well.
-
i move quite a bit..rocking...jumping...holding my guitar high up in the air and playing....
-
It's hard to do secret internal Ninja timing! Gotta let the cat out the bag! 8)
-
I must be a stiff or something :D
MPC ?/?

i'm guessing an AKAI MPC....it's a beat machine, alot of drummers use them to run loops live for timing. i run them off of my macbook...but it's the same concept...
-
I have to tap my foot or i lose timing completely. :-\
I also occasionally smash it on the ground for emphasis. ;D

Yeah, it's pretty much a high priced beat machine. Good for filling out the percussion and keeping the timing.

Do you play behind your head mr. moderator? :D
-
I tap my heal. The other guitarist/bassist taps the front of his foot.
-
I tap, scoot, etc. when I play. When I sing, for some reason, I tend to close my left eye before my right.
Haven't figured it out... and I can't stop it.

I'm not energetic enough during services. One of my commitments to the Lord was that I'm going to be more outwardly expressive to HIM. I'm going to have to star jumping around like you guys!
-
we have a six piece band in a small corner. :D
if somebody starts to shout, we all jump to guard our equipment :D
-
Tap??? ?/? I tap, rock, and some times if it gets good to me... I get my march on! Well at least thats as best as I can describe it. Kind of a quartet thing I picked up from watching all of these guys.

I have a large "scar" on the back of my Tele from one of those tall, hold-it-by-the-headstock bass stands falling over on my guitar during such an encounter...
:'( :'( :'( :'(

Far as I know, I tap my feet. But others in the band says that I'm spastic. My head would bob up and down, either my left or right leg - sometimes both will be flailing every which way. They say I pace back and forth when I'm playing too.
I've always wondered why before we play, I'm surrounded by other musicians and afterwards, I always have a 10' radius around me after praise and worship.
-
done both... tapped like i got Tourret's in my whole leg and also played motionless. people use to make fun of me because i looked so relaxed sometimes, seated back in my chair with my legs stretched straight out. i get lost sometimes, lol.
and, apparently, i make these angry expressions when i get into it. not Dubose-y or anything, but my face balls up like im upset about something, lol. from what im hearing it sounds like it happens when i play a fast lick or somethin. oh well.
we've all probably got as many different bodily expressions as we do different playing styles. God bless us :)

YOU PROBADLY WOULD WANT TO DO IT IN TIME.TIMING IS VERY,VERY IMPORTANT.YOU DO NOT WANT TO DEVELOPE ANY BAD HABITS.BECAUSE THEY WILL STICK WITH YOU.JUST SOME ADVICE,DO NOT TAKE IT THE WRONG WAY 8)

Ok, let me get this right:
You're in church playing guitar, having conversations with somebody, and dancing to another song....all at the same time? lol
Now, that's a multi-taskinal gift! :D

very odd. lol. To be honest the foot tapping thing is only on fast songs and I don't think it messes up my timing that bad. At least I hope it doesn't.
