Title: Midi help on Yamaha PSR350

Hi Guys
I finally got a new board Yamaha PSR350 with a build in floppy disk. My question is how do I download my hundreds of midi files from my computer to my keyboard.
Out of ignorance I copied 2midi files to disk and inserted it in the keyboard but it is giving error message.
Seems like it is the file type or something that doesn't talk to one another.
PS** Remember I don't want to use midi cables for now to connect to pc, it is a normal midi file that I want to convert to a stiffy disk and stick it in the onboard stiffy drive and then suppose to play.

I've got a new Yamaha PSR 2000, which is similar to what you've got.  I have had luck with what you are talking about, so I'm not sure what the problem was.   But, did you first format the floppy from your PSR keyboard before you transferred the files from your computer?  That would be my first guess. (easy to do - check our the manual)

Give that a try first, then let me know if it doesn't work - we could try something else till we get it right. Email is the best way:

I will try that tonight. The one thing I like about the keyboard is the Lessons on the board, where you can practise the LH & RH and even the timing as well. My piano lessons is really coming in handy and I must add it got beautiful sounds.
What I hope to achieve is playing my midi files through th board and from there practice the LH & RH seperately (Can this be done)?

The guy at the music shop where I bought the keyboard said I must bring the stiffy around and he will see what he can do as well, so I will let you know how it goes.

Davelong  & Daryl I finally got it to work.
Yes I had to format the stiffy 1st in the keyboard's floppy drive and from there I could copy any midi files to the stiffy and then play it back on the psr350 of mine. What I will try and do tonight is to save the files to disk on the keyboards memory and see if I can do the left hand right hand lessons with the midi file.

Glad it's working for you now!  I guess you know about all the MIDIs at Sister T's site, and especially at godsgospel.com - TONS of Sam Tolbert's MIDIs - he's GREAT!  (ooops - I'm showing my age - I guess I should have said 'off the chain')
