But nonetheless, I'll strive to be more active this year. Pray for me.  8)

From what I can see, I've got about 6 that I know will participate and be there each Sunday (no offense to anyone, we just want all teams to be knowledgeable and active each week).

Now, 2K, if you're serious, I believe you'd be 7; TJ, if you can actively participate, I think you'd be eight.

I'd love to have at least 10 teams.

Uh, no. If one could have T. Brady, L. Tomlinson & Adrian Peterson, R. Moss, R. Wayne & S. Smith, A. Gates and the Cowboys defense playing each week, that's a hard team to beat. :o

It's just highly unlikely to have the ability to do so.  :-\

You don't get to pick, all at once, then let the next person make their selections. It's a draft, not shopping for groceries.  :D

What you need to know about fantasy football is that it is hit or miss.  Go to your nearest Wal-Mart and walk straight to your magazine section and pick up a Fantasy Football magazine.  That's all the info I can give to a enemy...I mean rival.  Good luck...you all need it.  Just remember second isn't that bad.

No, it isn't- especially when the odds were against you getting there.  This, of course, coming from last season's runner-up and season award winner.   ;)

Dont pick up people cuz they are from your favorite team

Know who's injured and dont drop them unless u need to (IR, or u need immediate help)

Watch the waiver wire

keep up wit football news and even as i post this im sure someone will still draft travis henry and maybe even vick.

make good trades and dont make someone elses team stronger without you receiving equal in return

HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!!

We have an ODD number of teams. Our league can NOT start with an ODD number of teams. The easiest thing to do, of course, is to see if we can get one more.

I've sent an email to the last 1 or 2 team managers to see what's going on. If anyone has any other ideas or knows someone who'd like to join, please let me know ASAP!!!!

a few questions:

1.  Who was the person that drafted Peyton Manning?
2.  What round did you draft him in?
3.  If you decided you didn't want him, why just drop him and not trade him away?

inquiring minds want to know...

Okay, my draft results opened and I answered my #2 question, so I replace it with this:

How do you drop the #6 overall pick for a RB who at best be a committee on a team more likely to air it out?

3.  If you decided you didn't want him, why just drop him and not trade him away?

inquiring minds want to know...

Okay, my draft results opened and I answered my #2 question, so I replace it with this:

How do you drop the #6 overall pick for a RB who at best be a committee on a team more likely to air it out?

call whoever is in charge of the Grand Jury Sports Investigation Unit

i wonder if icpmusic thought peyton was on IR  :D

A reminder to team managers to check your team at least 2-3 times per week. This will help to ensure competitive activity.

Indeed. Rodgers would have to play "lights out" in order to unseat Favre from the starting spot. Or, Favre would have to get traded.  :-\

so let ask all those here who would or wouldnt pull the trigger

brady and LJ for owens and gore

It would depend on several factors:

a. Who is my QB? If he's better than average and my WR and RB corp are better because of Owens and Gore, then no deal.

b. Who are my WRs? If they're weakened, without Owens, then no deal.

c. Who are my RBs? If they're weakend, without Gore, then no deal.

d. What's the deal with Brady's injury? Is it like his shoulder 'injury' or is something more?

e. Can LJ stay healthy?

f. What's the offensive line like in KC? Can they block, or is LJ in for a hurtin', again, this season?

g. How is Gore going to be utilized in the pass happy Mike Martz offensive scheme?

To be completely honest: RJ's team is suspect without Owens and Gore; Ray Charles can see that.  :D

Lastly, I say all of that to say I wouldn't pull the trigger on that deal.

Using your order:

Big C's Defenders: the only suspect individual is the QB (Jay Cutler); WR corp can be consistent enough to matter. A

Steelers: If their WR corp can stay healthy (and Coles can gel with Favre), they've got a good shot. B+

icpmusicministry: Lots of question marks at key positions (Can Schaub, Brown, Jacobs, Gonzo stay healthy?). C+

BLACKSPYDERZ: As of now, in desperate need of a RB; can Gerrard be consistent this year. B-

The WillVonnes: Stokley is questionable, as well as, the health of Portis. Holmes may step up this season. B

**SUPASTAZ**: WR Curtis biggest question mark along with RunDmC. Again, how does Gore fit in SF? B-

Holy Rollers: Biggest concern is at QB; how does Maroney fit in this season in NE? C+

Brooklyn_Style: WR corp is trouble, along with RB corp; Brady could make up for ALL of that. :D B+

Doubles Outlaws: RB McGahee is a great concern; TE is a mild concern; preseason injuries abound. B+

Dallas Cowboys: WR corp is a concern; they're a hamstring away from not even seeing the playoffs. A

I'm in a couple of other leagues as well.  I was offered this trade...let me get the opinions of you guys.

His team                         My team
Peyton Manning                         Matt Hasselback
Braylon Edwards           for          Reggie Wayne
Ricky Williams                            Joseph Addai

You only get a 'possible' upgrade at WR. If Manning were 100% healthy, I'd say you'd have an upgrade there, as well.

The problem @ RB is Williams is, basically, an unknown. He hasn't been in the league, and although he's looked good in camp, I'm not sure how that'll translate to the regular season.  :-\

manning is the only upgrade you get braylon edwards takes a hit bcuz of his qb injury

I'm not sure why you'd care considering you have the starting RB for the Bengals.

Best guess, Vonne thinks they'll be using the RB-by-committee plan (which sucks the life out of FFs everywhere).

I did, however, pick up C. Perry in my other leagues (where my RBs aren't as strong).  ;) 8)

Ding Ding Ding DInG....you got it exactly right!!! My hubby thought that since the Bengals released R. Johnson they would be using whatyamacallit more than the guy we had. Maybe more playing time will yeild more yds and tds. ;) We're in this together so if he thinks someone needs to go or stay then I'm not going to argue.

Welcome to the start of Fantasy Football 2008-2009.

For those of you with players in tonight's Giants-Redskins game, you have less than an hour to make any necessary changes to your lineup.

Can anybody explain to me why Hines Ward was the onliest person on my entire squad that decided to show up and play football?

I think I had at least two other guys that kind of remembered there was a game, but other than that, my squad was garbage this weekend.

On another note...

***swoosh Cynical Man enters the room***

...as a Detroit Lions fan, I'd like to send a shout-out to our mastermind GM Matt Millen.  Matt, that awesome off-season trade of run-stopping NT Shaun Rogers was brilliant.  This blockbuster trade resulted in our defense getting scorched by Michael Turner for 220 rushing yards and a couple of TDs.  Oh, by the way, the backup got 93 of his own rushing yards with a TD as well.  Matt, you just get better and better every day!

TIME OUT, STEELER FAN!!

In the spirit of this post here

When Cynical Man first arrived with a "*poof," he was corrected by the Grammar Wizard for copyright infringement.  Therefore, I must pass the message on to you, Steeler Fan.

The swoosh is my thing.  You are not allowed to swoosh.  However, waving wands and pixie dust (although not very fitting of the Steeler psyche) are still available.

Continue to govern yourselves accordingly.   ;D :D ;D :D :D ;D :D
Many apologies for the butt-whoopincopyright infringement.  Instead of "swoosh", I'll adjust to some sort of smash or clamor which is befitting the football theme.  I'll forgo the waving of hands and the pixie dust though.  Not a good look.  :D

Speaking of deep leagues, I'm in another league where individual players get points for special teams return yards and scores.  My boy got trounced because the guy he went against had Redskin RB Rock Cartwright in the starting line up as the W/R flex position.

Well, 145 kick return yards later...

Gimme a minute, I'm gonna check to see if Devin Hester or Dante Hall are still available.

Hester was gone but I snatched up Dante Hall.

He had 3 rec for 13 yards last week but had 96 return yards.

Return Yards (7 yards per point; 10 bonus points at 50 yards; 15 bonus points at 75 yards; 25 bonus points at 100 yards)

Interesting. Nice grab considering the fact that KC's defense is NOTHING to write home about. ;)

Should give opponents plenty of opportunities to score, thus, allowing Hall to get his return yards.  :D

What Chevonne has learned from playing Fantasy Football for the first time...
1. Stay away from so many message boards...limit it to a trusted source. If you get too many folks giving you advice, you'll nut up! Ahhhhhhhhh!! @!#$%@#@!@# >:( :( ?/? :'( :-X :-\

2. Don't ask yo kinfolk NOTHING!!!!

3. Follow your heart....Don't make a million changes just find a team and stick with it. Unless someone gets hurt or doesn't produce.

*Will add more as knowledge becomes available :-[ :-[ :-[

If you don't know what you're doing, just don't play cause you might mess up somebody's league :'( :'( :'(

Hall is a St. Louis Ram now.  Four scores plus a kickoff to start either half by the opponent could equate to an average of 20-25 yards per return for Hall.  That's an easy 39 points without even counting punt return or WR reception points yet.

What fantasy league counts punt returns?

It's another yahoo team I have with some guys I go to church with.

My first year running a FF league we counted return yards for the first game, then took them off.

How 'bout I thought I was going to run away with a win this week?  Icp conveniently found a way NOT to change his QB and one of his WRs in the wake of the Ravens/Texans rescheduled game.  I should blow him out right?

OOOPS!  Carson Palmer forgot that there was a game on Sunday!

Basically, unless Patrick Crayton comes up with 26 points or more tonight, I'm taking another "L" this week.

This is twice in a row that Palmer has done this to me.  He's dangerously close to getting benched next week against NYG.  My other choice would be Aaron Rodgers against Dallas.

I'm at the bottom of the league right now.  I need to rise.  Carson Palmer needs to have a beast of a game.  Combine that with a Larry Fitzgerald disciplinary problem that keeps him out this week and a conflict betwunxt Moss and Cassel...and I just might squeeze out a victory in week 3.

I hope your not talking about our trade.  Think about it for one second:

Earnest Graham: a proven RB in this league
Eddie Royal: Rookie, one great game and one decent game

I knew what I was getting when I made the trade; he is going off potential.  Plus, Royal was going to the bench this week anyway...Smith is back.  If I can make a upgrade at QB...this league is in real trouble.

Welcome to Understatements-"R"-Us!  How about having 3 of your top players leave the SAME GAME!  Fortunately, McNabb returned.  Also fortunate, I started McNabb over Big Ben.  Unfortunate- Westbrook's ankle injury.  So far, no break.  Awaiting MRI.

LDT'll be fine for tonight: 60-70 yd rushing, 30 yard rec. and one TD ;)

Darren Sproles is going to have one short yardage TD and one on a screen pass.  ;) (I need THAT for one of my other leagues)

Rivers is ONLY allowed to throw to Chris Chambers, Antonio Gates and Sproles (he may throw one time to LDT, that's IT! >:( :D)

Vincent Jackson is to receive NO love tonight; not even an end around.  >:(

Yeah, the vultures left the QB section of my pre-game warm ups with the QUICKS this week.  I need QB prayer.

I need for Hines Ward and Willis McGahee to combine for 8 points plus whatever Heath Miller gets.  That should hook me up for this week.

Sure hate it for anybody in any league that started the Arizona or NYJ defenses this week.

Well folks, the Fantasy Football Playoffs are upon us, again!!

It's been a great roller coaster ride of a season with some shocking developments and disappointing failures.

The Dallas Cowboys, fresh off their 3 game win streak, snatch the Regular Season crown from icpmusicministry (who get their QB back just in time for the playoffs).

Both teams can rest easy, this week as they have earned themselves a bye.

The divisional match-ups pit: **SUPASTAZ** vs BLACKSPYDERZ
                                and
Big C's Defenders vs The WillVonnes

Who's season continues and who's comes to a bitter end? Find out Sunday!!

The Conference Championships are here!!!!

After an outstanding regular season, the WILLVONNES? season has come to end at the hands of Big C's Defenders. Now, BC's Defenders face the high scoring Dallas Cowboys.

In the other wild-card match-up, the SUPASTARZ, led by an amazing Monday night game by Antonio Bryant, defeated the BLACKSPYDERZ. Now, they face the #2 seed: icpmusicministry (who has made it this far making THE fewest roster moves during the Fantasy Football season).

It should be a GREAT weekend of Fantasy Football action, folks. Set your lineups and say a prayer.

GOOD LUCK to all!!!

Sjon, you have a nice lil lineup.  I would love to continue making BOLD statements but my agent told me "Once was enough!"  I will, however, say "Good luck"

My lineup is ok. I'm a bit concerned about my RBs, though.  :-\

You know, you're team's kinda sweet there, too, buddy. Don't let the projections fool ya.  :D

Right back atcha, though. It should be a great match.

Well, the smoke has cleared and the dust has settled; and, in the end, we have two teams fighting for the right to call themselves
FANTASY FOOTBALL CHAMPION!!

In a wild weekend of fantasy gridiron action, the top two teams in the LGM League were upset.

The young and brash Big C's Defenders defeated the top-scoring Dallas Cowboys to advance to the LGM Fantasy Football Championship.

When asked for his reaction, the coach of the Dallas Cowboys said, 'They are who we THOUGHT they were. You can anoint 'em if you want to; but, we had 'em. We let 'em off the hook!'

In the other divisional matchup, the upstart SUPASTAZ defeated icpmusicministry to advance to the LGM Finals.

IMM's coach was quoted as saying, 'Maybe, if I'd made a roster move or two, we could be going to the championships.'

There you have it folks!
Big C's Defenders vs. SUPASTAZ

for the LGM FANTASY FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP!

Good luck to BOTH teams!!

The Champ IS here!!!

In what some might call an upset, SUPASTAZ defeated BIG C's DEFENDERS 104-102 to take their first FANTASY FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

LGM Sports Network was able to catch up with the elated coach.

LGMSN: Coach RJ, there were a LOT of people who didn't think you'd be able to pull this off; any thoughts about that?

Coach RJ: Well, you know, that's why they play the games right? I put my players in the lineup and hoped for the best. I mean, my starting RB was inactive; INACTIVE, man!  Who'd have thought I'd be standing here waitin' to hold that championship trophy?

We here at LGM Sports Network want to congratulate SUPASTAZ for a fantastic season. Looks like Christmas came early for them.

That's it for us, LGM!! It's been a great fantasy football season and we look forward to seeing EVERYONE back next year!

This just in, LGMSN has learned that the coach of the Dallas Cowboys was overheard mumbling, angrily, "That should've been MY title, again, this season!"

Talk about sour grapes, folks.  :-\
