Wow!!!
This is awesome Diverse...
I like the way you thought this out..
I was thinking of quiting after 65, but was curious what was next 8)
I know I need to learn more about the Hammond & a few other areas :D
What more can I say sir,...every serious musician & M.O.Ms aught to go over this.
I promise you will come out enlighted & you'll see areas where you need to go & focus on to complete your ministry.
Blessed be thou Divine.
PS:
I also will be forever grateful to the diatonic major scale chord practice method you shared yesterday. I formed a few chords & created up to 20 exercises I plan to go over in the next year or 2.
It's like I'm re-learning the scales..
I know I'll never sound "thin" [if there's anything as such ;D, or rather dry] again because everything sounded so Phatt when I was playing those simple chords with the worst piano sounds & I couldn't believe that:
i) It was me sounding phat with every chord I played;
ii) In a choppy, unpleasant piano sound; and
iii) Without a sustain pedal!! :o 8)
Thank you.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that it has also enabled me to chord anyhow I want with my LH in record time!! :o I'm not exaggerating here, I'm stating what I experienced this morning!
So for anyone who was intimidated by what Diverse shared, but you still want to sound phat by choice rather than by luck or knowing only a few chords, I encourage you to go & try out the method Diverse was sharing..
Once you've practiced that method, you'll never be afraid to play the piano again because you'll just sound phatt!!
I am also willing to share a couple of exercises I've developed & some on the pipeline based on the principle.
Ok, I think it's point taken now ;D ;)
-
hey musaillo can you send me those exercises and some and some of those chords
please
and thank you for your kind words
-
sure Diverse..
& no, thank you!
You gave us the key to unlocking the creativity in us!
If anyone else is interested, the exercises are here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/3955125/Diatonic-scale-various-exercise-ideas
This is just to give you all an idea of what I'm talking about.
The way I plan to go thru' these exercises is selecting 1 or 2 & doing them, in all the keys.
This can take anything from a month to a year (depending on practice time).
Each exercise also emphasizes a specific focus point. For example, extended chords, which quality would it be? a 9th, 11th 13th etc..
I can also come up with exercise which will help me play (by choice) rootless voicings anytime I want in any key..& the wonder of this type of exercise is that all you need to do is find 1 particular chord you like & take it up a scale diatonically, reproduce everything in the number system, DO IT!! & DO IT IN ALL THE KEYS FOR MAXIMUM BENEFIT..in turn this will reinforce many things in your mind (eg, after doing 1 exercise in a few keys, you will never again struggle with the numbers on scale notes..etc).
It will also empower one to play what they want, WHEN THEY WANT!, as opposed to resorting to simple triads you started of with when you first learnt the diatonic major scales. 8)
I f this is done faithfully (& patiently), I believe you will never ever have to ask the famous question in this era " how do I make my playing sound full/ phat?" :D ;) :-X

I falled!!!
O'God I need to brush off my theory.....

This is cute, but I have two questions:
a. Who's giving the test
b. Where are the answers, as in in one location.
The reason for b is because the last few questions (specifically the T or F questions) have possibly more than one answer or can be answered based on individual beliefs.
-
I love this test!!!!!! Thanks diverse379. Remain blessed
**I'll turn my test in by COB tommorrah** ;D

I worded those questions like that purposely
they can be answered in many ways
but if you know the scripture where the actual phrase or rearrangement of words come from there can only be one answer
To answer your first question I am iving the test
as far as where the answers are
I am working it out with 4his glory if there will be a place on the site that we can house the answers
but pm me on those questions I would like to go over those last true false questions with you
I was a little tired when I wrote those I did this test in one sitting
I probably could have worded them a litte better
I love this test!!!!!! Thanks diverse379. Remain blessed

thanks a lot looking forward to it

Troof...
I thought the T& F answers were ok..& those scripture questions did indeed have 1 answer if you know your scripture passages.

the answer key is finished
thanks everyone for your encouragement and support
