Easy.

Psalm 33:3 (NIV)

 3 Sing to him a new song;
       play skillfully, and shout for joy.

The Bible says to play skillfully. Skillfull musicians do not need to transpose. Why? Because they have SKILLS. Skill comes from practice. Playing in every key comes from practice. Practice. Practice. Practice. :D

God doesnt care about HOW you play he looks at your HEART!..
.

Yes God looks at our hearts, but evidently (psalm 33:3), he does care how we play. He told us to play skillfully.

Us church musicians need to stop giving God 'any ole' praise. We should give him our very best. So No, we wont stop talking about it. We will continue to encourage musicians to uphold a standard of exellence when it comes to our skills, attitudes and ministries.

Of course you wont find transposing in the Bible, because it wasnt invented.  :P

In any profesion or talent, there are basic skills that one must master. Playing in every key is a basic skill. A church musician not knowing how to play in every key, is like a mechanic who cant change a flat tire or do an oil change. They will be called to do something simple one day, and they wont be able to do it, and they will look silly and incompetent.

Just my opinion. Yall must not be organist :D

In my closing, If you are a transposer, and you need to be saved from the transposing spirit, come on down and shake my hand, and our workers here at LGM will help you to learn to play in every key.

Come on dude, that's like saying the bible don't talk about smoking, but u know it's still wrong.  If u don't like the subject, don't comment.  It may be a waste of time to u, but don't hinder others from wanting to achieve excellence.  Gospel is the only genre I know of where transposers are welcomed, even sought out.  I wonder why that is?   ?/?

At the end of the day, its your choice. But if you can dedicate a couple of hours a week to practice, It shouldnt take more than a month or two to learn every key. And yall know can always ask for help here on LGM.
