before I'm crucified:
I know the numbering is not technically correct, but that wasn't my aim, all I was doing was 2 communicate an idea in a manner I think most ppl are comfortable with & won't steal my time..
peace
After revision of the progression, I wouldnt suggest playing any parts fast..
the whole progression is nice for me played slowly...let the ear be the judge @ the end of day.
Alternatively you could play major chords using the whole tone scale, in any inversion.
For instance, say you've just ended any song in the key of C.
Say you ended at this chord:
C/E-G-C
this allows you 2 options (in fact, more, but let's stick to the 2).
[btw, what I'm explaining can be used to enhance your endings 8) ;) 8)]
so from that 1 chord, you can start the whole tone scale major chords either from the #1 (Db chord) or the #5 (Ab chord)
SO say we start from the #1:
C/E-G-C end of any song..then:
C#/F-G#-C# or C#-F-G# on RH
D#/G-A#-D# or D#-G-A#
F/ A-C-F or F-A-C
(repeat this from the C# chord...there are plenty of options from here:)
you could just go to Gb, so:
Gb/Bb-Db-Gb
Ab/C-Eb-Ab
Bb/D-F-Bb
(repeat this back & forth a couple of times..then...)
C/B-E-G
D/C#-F#-A
E/D#-G#-B
(repeat then..)
F/F-A-C
G/G-B-D
A/A-C#-E, C#-G#-C#
(end or repeat from start)
-
Oops, I forgot to add the example where you jump straight to the #5:
from C/E-G-C
the #5 in the key of C is Ab
so :
C/E-G-C
Ab/Eb-(G)-Ab-C
Bb/F-(A)-Bb-D
C/G-C-E
(repeat)
please note that if you start from the #5, you end on a different inversion of the 1 chord in the original key (in this case, the key of CM)..
When you start from the #1 (see previous post, you end up on the 4 chord, which effectively becomes your new key if you want (in this case being the F.)
You can do this anytime you want when ending a song. But I think it is best used when there is a medley of songs being sung...
the #1 method is also great to use when you have an experienced team or you've practiced it with your P&W & you want to modulate to the 4th key.
Alternatively, you can use the #1 method & still stay in the same key..It just creates that excitement.
I hope that answers your Q.

I don't think there is a progression that contains all chords, but I've got one that contains almost every bass note u can play in a particular key.
