I'm sure everyone has heard this song before.  I decided to post my version of it for everybody.  It is basically the same as you all have heard it with some fillers and runs thrown in.

Key of F    LH/RH

Part 1:

F / C-F-A Give thanks
G,Ab / (LH only) with a
A / C-E-G greatful heart, give
D / A-E-F, A-D-F (slide E to D) thanks
C,Bb / (LH only) to the
A / G-C-E Holy one

C / G-Bb-Eb (filler)
F / A-C-F (filler) give
OR
F / Eb-G-A-D (octave higher) give

Bb / F-Bb-D thanks
B / F-Ab-B-D because He's
A / G-C-E given
D / A-C-F Jesus
Eb / Bb-Eb-F-G, Bb-Eb-G Christ

*You can add the 9th for a different sound

Special Part:

F / Bb-Eb-G

(This isn't necessarily part of the song, but it sounds nice.)

Also, when you are going into Part 2 of the song, instead of playing the chords, right after you play the chord C / Bb-C-E-G start running the F major scale in the RH starting on Bb.  So you would play this:

C / Bb-C-E-G us
 * / Bb,C,D,E,F,G,A
Bb / Bb,C,D,E,F,G,A,Bb and
C / E-G-C now

If you do it correctly, your pinky will land on C and just add the other 2 notes to make the chord.  Of course, after you play the chord, drop down an octave to finish the rest of the song.

Actually, I am not sure who first came up with this song.  I know that a lot of churches around the world sing it.  T.D. Jakes did a version on some CD, but i can't think of the name right now.

The T.D. Jakes version is on a CD called "Bishops of Faith". I'm not sure what Cd they took it from.

Dobbie Powell has a version of it and on Cassanda O'neal DVD she does a version of it

Thanks for the post T-Block.  The first time I heard that song was on a CD by Don Moen.  In fact, the name of the CD is "Give Thanks" ...  BroAllan
