I'm in the same predicament but I think that I just need to get a midi cable. I already have the USB cord and Cubase (which sucks) :'( :'( :'(

I know what you are saying because I want to post clips to help people, but it seems that I can't help others.

Do you have midi cables??  That will be the first thing you have to get.  Then you will have to get a program to make the midis

Hi Jjjoe & all, I know that some people use midillustrator ( www.midillustrator.com (http://www.midillustrator.com) ).
There is also a free midi program called Anvil Studio [www.anvilstudio.com ]

your board might allow you to use usb cables to connect to the computer to make the files..

Here are detailed instructions:

Downloading is easy, fast & free.

Install the software into your computer. Now if your soundcard has got midi ports you can connect your keyboard which also has these midi ports via midi cables,(in my case my keyboard doesn't have midi ports but a USB port, so i connect my keyboard to the PC via USB cable).

Now, you have activate your keyboard in AnvilStudio, to do that is easy:

1. GO TO VIEW, SELECT IT

2. UNDER THE VIEW POP OUT GO AND SELECT 'Synthesizers, MIDI + Audio Ports'

3. You will then see 'Midi In Port' and 'Midi Out Port'

Your anvil software will have read your keyboard from these ports.

4. SELECT YOUR KEYBOARD FROM EITHER THESE PORTS(it should be one of the 2), play your keyboard until you hear a sound.

Then you are ready to start recording, all of this may sound technical but using the software is easy.

After you have saved your song, when you open your song it may open it using MEDIA PLAYER, so right-click on it and select 'open with' and select the vanbasco icon and press ok.

Any way
be blessed
