Hey guys...I'm learning drums, and I was wondering if one of you could help me out...
I'm going to start out with just a snare...should I get a regular one or a piccolo snare? What's the difference? I'd appreciate any help you all could give me.

the primary difference is the type of sound that each drum projects. Picolo snare are usually smaller in diameter and depth, thus projecting a sharper, higher pitched "popping' sound. Both are good, but it depends on the sound youre looking for. Both she be sufficient in learing to play.

i suggest that you go with a standard size snare to start off. then, as time goes on, you can get a piccollo to expand your sound...
