Diverse379 started a post on runs in the Organ room a lil while back. You can see what I said there.

For runs you need to practice your

fingering (use the standard scale fingering, or just your first 3 fingers)

Scales - You gotta know which notes to hit

Timing - you gotta finish your run on the correct note, even if you mess up

If you figure out the chord, you can run the appropiate scale over it.

Or you can just practice your Major, Blues and Pentatonic scales in all keys

Yeah i used to do that but i stopped. Now i just memorize the formula for the minor and major pents and use them accordingly.

first you have to know some scales start off with common scales like major minor blues and penatonic okay now experiment with the scales and get a pattern that you like and practice it going up and down plus a lot of these so called sick runs are arpeggios (broken up chords) repeated up and down the keyboard the main thing is to experiment
