Can somebody PLEASE help me out. Before I put on my new lockin nuts, my old one (the bottom one) was loose and backing it's way out of the wood. Well, of course this is a problem cause don't want my bass to fall off of my shoulders lol...
What can I do to stop that screw from backing back out? I try to re-tighten but after playing, it starts to wiggle again.
Somebody please give me some tricks of the trade. This little problem is getting on my nerves.

Use some wood glue and a couple of toothpicks in the hole to create a new surface to screw into.

+1.
put some wood glue in the hole, then stuff toothpicks into the hole. Trim the top and rethread your locking nut.

Or do like I did, I super glued my screws in my bass. I always use strap locks and each bass has them along with their own straps. So its not a problem of me wanting to get them out. ;D

I've always wondered was I the only one to do this :)

I appreciate "everybodies" response. I'll be getting on this as soon as I get home from work.
Thanks again.

I'm right there with you. Also, I don't plan on getting rid of the basses either, so they definitely don't need to come out.

my solution was already given. I shoved as many toothpicks in the hole as I could then cut them flush with wire cutters run your screw in.
-
So, I'm assuming that it won't come out using the Super Glue? I was a permenant fix cause I won't be changing them out either.
Another thing, is the super glue used along with shoving the tooth picks in also?
-
With super glue, that bad boy ain't going nowhere. Mine hasn't slipped any since I did this. I haven't used the toothpicks, so I don't know.

To all,
I shoved those toothpicks and super glued that baby in and it feels good. It worked, it worked, lol...
Thank you all for you advice and your feedback.

MikeGee, sitting behind a computer desk for 8 hours processing maintenance requests, lol... I guess I am an office worker, lol...
Thinking the bass and music ALL day long though. Is it me, or do I have any fello bassists that seems like my mind stays on music looking for GOD to enhance my gift(our) gifts?
