Title: An Idea
Post by: bklynfinest on October 10, 2008, 06:19:49 PM
I'm thinking of when I get my set to try something different. I'm thinking of putting together starclassic and maple together. I wan to use starclassic maple toms and bubinga floor tooms as well as bass drum. I figured i can get that nice warm sound from maple and those lows from bubinga. It's just an idea I'm very interested in trying

Bubinga already has warmth and resonance as well as more articulation than maple in the high end (maple has a wide mid-range but not punchy highs or lows of a birch or in this case bubinga). Why not go all bubinga?

Expensive experiment that could be very hard to resale if you don't like it. Be careful.
