This is the Circle of 5th

Its a method of helping you memorize the 12 major scales, which start with;
C scale
F (1 flat) scale
Bb (2 flats) scale
Eb (3 flats) scale
Ab (4 flats) scale
Db (5 flats) scale
F# (6 sharps) scale
B (5 sharps) scale
E (4 sharps) scale
A (3 sharps) scale
D (2 sharps) scale
G (1 sharp) scale
all the way around counter-clock wise to C.

Hope this helps.

The Circle of 5ths also has many more uses as well.  It's probable best to do a google search and look for a site that fully explains it with a diagram of the circle.

The circle of 4ths is the opposite of the circle of 5ths.  Instead of going C, G, D, A, E, B, F#, C#   you start at the end and work to the beginning C#,
F#, B, E, A, D, G, C.  You get it?
