so yea i had a shed atmy church and this is a clip of me(on the black set) and my friends trevor (on my set) we were just having fun. tell me what you think of this short clip. =)

Do you just post in here to get clip ratings??? The only time I see you is when your posting a clip of yourself.

I still don't understand why 98.5% of drummers consider shedding just straight chopping away.... I mean where's the control, the finesse and tastefulness or is it just me that thinks there's more to being a well rounded drummer/percussionist... chopping it up is fine in moderation but how far will that get anyones career or is it just a hobby? ?/? ?/? but for your specific clip it was a bit messy , a couple nice ideas but I don't think they have to be displayed with the sticks flying from behind your head.....

For what it was, it was cool. It was a couple of cats just having fun. It wasn't the cleanest playing that I have ever seen, but I appreciate it for what it was 100%.
It would also be nice if you poked your head in when you DIDN'T have a clip to share as well...

ok well thanks for the comments good or bad, umm ok well im actually here all the time i jus dont really say anything, i dont look for ratings at all so idk where that came from. ok and here in indiana where im from...we all get together an have fun, and try an come up with IDEAS so yea we r goin to chop when we shed, we groove and play in the pocket at gigs and at church thats where the money is and that how you bring god in.....why cant we have fun at a no stress get together?? and another reason why we "chop" or why others chop at shed is cuz that really the only time they can practice their ideas.....ANYWAY but no, no ones looking for ratings at all sometimes i wanna share what i have and see what other drummers think. and btw it was sloppy cuz we were trying to chop with different and new ideas.....who wouldnt be rusty at somethin new?? hmmmmmm

I hear you. That feel is good for Spanky and it has it's place, but not in everything and not by everybody. Anyway, it was a shed and I understand that. Alot of us are more into structured music, compostition, etc. Nothing personal against pantherboy or anyone in the featured clip.

well said.. most definitely nothing personal. Those 2 are excellent players and I hope they continue to grow everyday..

At about :26 when aaron starts playing again is a good example of said "lick". It's hot, but it's been abused. Basically this season's 3 over 2 :D

It's funny how Spank gets credit for that lick(I saw a vid of Max Roach doing something similar back in the day). But I actually saw Boots (Eric Greene) do it first, in that gospelchops shed clip with DW on bass for Floetry. Interesting...

You guys are both nice! Stop abusing Spanky's feel though. Its so annoying cause everybody does it. I think cats need some one on one time in the shed. That way you can develope your own feel.
