The deacons at my church alternate between "Glory, Glory Hallelujah" and "Do You Know Him" EVERY sunday. No variation...It's either one or the other. :D

Is that the one that goes, "Do you know Jesus Christ God's Son"? OMG, that reminds me of my Grandma Lizzie, she could sho sang a congregational song.

I'm 50-50 on that 'King of Glory'. First, you've GOT to have the singers to pull it off; but, IDK, sometimes, I'm cool with it, other times, not so much. It's kinda the same thing with 'We've come to Praise Him' ;)
-
if u really wanna sing it...u just have to adjust it to fit your choir; and us baptist will make the song work lol

Ness, I don't know why, but every time you mention Grandma Lizzie, I feel like I know her. :D :D
I like many of the songs that were mentioned. The only two I can think to add right now are:
Let's Just Praise the Lord (have no idea who sings it)
I'm Glad to be Alive (Hez Walker & LFCC)
Oh, and if your church is more traditional and prefers congregational songs, you can always do:
I don't know what you come to do (ughhhh!!!)
So Glad I'm Here in Jesus' Name
You Won't Leave Here Like You Came in Jesus' Name (the upbeat version)

TD Jakes has a version of that song (if, in fact it isn't the song of which you're speaking) that I just ABSOLUTELY love. And, I SO miss directing it. :(
As for all of the traditional suggestions, the first two....uggghhhh. I don't know the last one.
-
Speaking of traditionals, what about:
I'm so Glad Jesus Lifted Me
You Dont Know Like I Know (What he's done for me)
I Never Shall Forget What He's Done For Me
The Lord Is Blessing Me
We have Come into this House-gathered in his name...(hymn)
We're In Your House to PRaise Your NAme
Look Where He Brought Me From
Oh To Be Kept (Hymn)
Give Him Glory-Deandre Patterson
-
What ever happened to "This Lil' Light of Mine"? jk
the mother of my church always sings this or "Nothin' But the Blood o' Jesus"

I don't think it would be TD Jakes because I remember my church choir singing it back home in NY when I was a teenager. I don't think Jakes was recording back then.
But anyway, I wouldn't mind hearing Jakes' version. I'm gonna look it up.
