Title: New progression series coming soon
Post by: T-Block on March 11, 2009, 08:30:08 AM
Hey LGM fam, I got an idea from the Lord about a new series on progressions.  I don't know when I'm gonna start posting it, but I'm currently working hard to get it organized.  Here's a little preview of what it will look like:

1/1---5/4

C / C-E-G
G / F-A-C
(repeat)
___________________________

1/5---4/6

C / G-B-D
F / A-C-E
(repeat)

For those of you who are up on your theory, you probably already know or at least have a pretty good idea of what that means.  It's coming real soon fam, so GET READY, GET READY, GET READY!!! ;D

HAHAHAHA, I don't think I can make a "Progressions For Dummies".  It's all about understanding the numbers.  If you haven't seen it already, here's the first progression post I made:

I look forward to any tutorials or posts from you Tblock. I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth but, I would be grateful if you could occasionally "pepper" this new series with some videos. as sometimes its not what you play, but the way that you play it......

Are we talking slash chords here? I assume that the above progressions are in the key of C & you're playing a different base note over the chord normally associated with the scale degree? example: 4 chord bass= F +  6 chord = ACE = F/ACE = 4/6

Be Blessed

Interesting conclusion. ;)

Waiting on it T-Block. Just out of curiousity isn't a 4/6 just a Fmaj7?

In the key of C, yes it is an FM7.  But, it will also be a M7 chord in any key.
