Title: Old albums revisited
Post by: bgranger on April 20, 2009, 01:03:19 PM
I was just going through my collection reviewing old music. You should really check out Walter Hawkins' "The Hawkins Family" from 1980. I know this is before a lot of you guys time, but this is a great example from one of the pioneers of contemporary Gospel bass - Joel Smith. You don't hear his name come up a lot lately but you should really check this out.

That's funny I was just listening to some of the "Love Alive" music a couple weeks ago.

This is funny, I'm currently listening to some old school Andrae Crouch "I Come That You Might Have Life", that bass is groovin'!

What about 'Lift him Up' by Ron kenolly-I think thats back in 1992, with Abraham Laboriel holding it down!
