With all that she has been through these last few months, even the most staunch Cristian cannot come down on her for this pre-marital occurrence. Hopefully it will bring her some joy and I really hope the marriage works out as well.
As for the father, better J-Hud than New York.
-
I hope this is just a rumor. If she is pregnant her singing career is OVER.

Hopefully, they won't "come down" on her, but what she has been through in the last months in no ways justifies sin. The book of Job makes that very clear.

:o Nice! :o
I hope its not true either for a totally different set of reasons. That "I Love New York" dude gives me pause. There is something just not right about the cut of his jib. Plus her career was doing well.

Why do you say that?

I was wondering about that, too.

I agree. I always thought he was creepy.
On another point... just to throw in my two cents about this career/motherhood thing: some women choose family over career and while you might be devastated that their career is "over," they may have made a conscious decision to end their career (or put it on pause) for the sake of having children. Other women can actually BALANCE motherhood and career, and choose to have children while still working.
Either way, the choice is the woman's.

Lemme see.......Erykah Badu has had 3 kids and she's doing alright.
Maybe you should explain your stance because I am so lost.

Isn't that how Anita fizzed out? She had the her best album (which to this day takes me "places") and then she decided to do that family thing and never was really "heard from" again.

Anita Baker chose to leave the business for a while and raise her children. She had made so much money that she could afford take the time off and come back when she was good and ready. She's back and her loyal fans are keeping her paid. She's sold at least 12 million albums, along with her writing credits which made her a serious grip. Plus her ex-husband was a businessman. If you live a sensible lifestyle, you can retire off of that money. She's been nominated for 3 Grammys over the last 3 years so she's still around.

2 nominations in 2005 for her comeback CD and single, and 1 in 2007 for a Christmas CD.

It's just that female popstars marketability goes on a downward trajectory after having a child. Cases in point Brandy, Monica, Britney Spears...the list goes on. They may do alright and hold steady like Erykah Badu but they are never as marketable as they were before they became mothers. Just seems the way the popular music industry goes. I kind of think that's why Beyonce has taken her time to start a family.

These three artists are on the same level vocally as Jennifer. I think she will do fine after the baby.

Co-sign especially to the part in blue. In every area in the media where women have to be in front of the camera it's like this. Every female from an anchor to an actress goes through this after they have kids.
