I have many people around now that say: "I struggle with" i start laughing so hard. They struggle with people coming into church late, they struggle with people in the church, they struggle with there minds, they struggle with there old life or understanding someone else or why others do things.
My big thing why are you struggling with things that dont make sense. I really struggle with that hahahahahahaha

People don't want me to have nothin'
This usually comes from someone who will give you the third degree because you spent a large some of money for something you needed, but don't want you to say anything about them spending money on frivolous items/wants. This also seems to happen after they've talked about how broke they are or even after they asked you to borrow some money because they're "struggling to make it."

We used to have a poorly educated lady at church who used to always try to sound deep. She always started her sentences with "In essence..." LOL! Used to crack me up.

Example: So we started talking about life, church, work, and blase blase...". I CAN'T STAND THAT! What the HECK is "blase blase"??!! >:(
Another thing. I'm SICK and TIRED of seeing people's myspace status saying: "I'm to BLESS to be STRESS". Don't y'all learn anything in school these days?
Oh yeah, and I'm sick of hearing that MADE-UP WORD "conversate".
One mo thang: One of the ministers at our church had to speak a few weeks ago on a specific theme and commented on how he had the "dubious" task of speaking on the theme. I'm sitting there like: "You mean ARDUOUS task"!!!

How come this old lady here get's up and says "Givin' honor to the protocol and those I know and don't know to call... " like it's brand new and the funniest thing ever each time she says it? I been hearin' that since I was a kid, and she thinks she slays'em every time she says it, lol.
Lord forgive me, I'ma be old one day, probably sayin' somethin' played...

First giving honor to God who is the head of my life...."
Which is even funnier when they say that EVERY SINGLE TIME they sing a solo.... lol.

You are from NY. "Son" and "Kid" are the local vernacular. I am from PA but as an LFT member I am around NYers all the time so I have picked up the accent and the verbage.

Haha! This year at Easter, the kids were given part of the Resurrection story and they were supposed to expound on it in their own words. So my friends daughter who is like nine years old, reads her scripture, and then she says, "Okay. Technically, what happened was..."

One of the elders at our church always says "mens" and "womens". I'm just now getting to the point where I can just ignore it. I've been at this church for 14 years.
And while I'm talking about church......That "neighbor" thing that I hate? We just brought on a new pastor. He was one of several candidates that filled the pulpit during our selection process. I've LEFT some churches because I'd gotten tired of the "turn to your neighbor" schtick. I feel as though it's inviting me to be insincere by just repeating in robot fashion something that may or may not have been in my heart to say. Anyway, during the three sermons where this pastor was filling the pulpit, he didn't do that. So why on Easter / Resurrection Sunday, in his 1st sermon as the new pastor does he have to pull that one out of the bag? :-X :-X

I don't work at Ford, but that's an example of how people refer to it. When I lived in Flint and worked at Buick, people used to say "So you work at the Buick?". I had visions of 1 car that EVERYBODY worked on.
