Title: Can't Recommend Enough
Post by: jlynnb1 on July 21, 2009, 03:19:06 PM
Guitar Techniques Magazine. It's an imprt, so it's pricey, 15.99 a pop at Barnes and Noble or Borders...but it is BY FAR the best resource out there. Every month there are great, informative, challenging lessons that have impacted my playing in a big way. No 2 lessons with 10 heavey metal songs tabbed...any transcription they do it's to highlight a specific style or technique. This month Guthrie Govan does a tour de force bending lesson that will kick your tail. if you want to get better and and be challenged, check it out.

British mag, right?
Yes, I bought it a few times, when the wife wasn't looking ;D
I'm obsessed with good guitar mags, and seek them out regularly.

Agreed...a great magazine. Well worth the subscription.

It used to be very hard to get. Newsstands in the US typically have issues a month or so after subscribers.

I believe I have every issue they've ever printed, but I probably am missing one or two somewhere.

Guitar Techniques is the best of the bunch and the one I look forward to receiving each month.

if you have all the issues, i missed a couple early this year that i'm dying to get a series out of. it ws the "Shred Legato" Series that Martin Goulding was doing. Anyway you'd be willing to scan just that series. I think I have part 4 and missed the first 3.

That's really funny you should say that...

...because I pulled out the February issue just to go after that Legato material.

Been listening to just that in the car all day.

I'm slow, but I'll pull together what I have and see if I can make you a "master lesson".

i'd reallyt appreciate it....he's doing an awesome technique building series. it's called metal bootcamp, but it will kick any players butt. the alternate picking one is killing me because the advanced examples are in quintuplets and sextuplets...it's so hard for me to think in 5's and 7's.
