So i'm looking into changing from my digital recorder to computer recording. I need some help with getting a decent soundcard. Looking to spend about $300-$400 or even if you know anything cheaper with just as much quality because I will be using them for church services recording straight off the mixer.

Some things to think about would be if you want a Mac or PC,an internal card in the computer or firewire/usb. Also think about how many channels you want to record in. If you want more than 2-4, the price starts going up. You also pay more if the sound card has mic pres.

What I ended up doing, I have a computer designed just for recording so I'm kind of stuck with that one instead of the Mac. I would rather use an internal card vs the firewire/usb just because of accessibility. It's going to be about 4 channels that I'm going to be recording at one time
