I've been playing around with the old tune "Sunny"; Am,C7,F7,Bm E7 in the key of C(?). Trying to use "B" major scale notes doesn't work as well as "B" minor scales over the Am. What part does the key signature play ? assuming essentially I'm playing a 7th degree from a C scale over the Am(a 6th degree). Would you number this progression a Vl,l,lV,Vll,lll ? thaanks be blessed

It looks like the song is in Am. You have a minor 2-5-1 progression, Bm-E7-Am. Usually a dominate chord,E7, leads the listner to the the root of the song which appears to be the A minor. Since this is minor,the progression would be i-III-IV-ii-V7.
B major scale over Am probably won't sound as good because B major has 5 sharps and A minor has no sharps or flats. On the other hand B minor only has two sharps, C# and F#. You could always use the A minor pentatonic and/or "A" blues scale. Also you could use any mode in C major.
