Can someone tell me the name of this chord? and how do I determine the name?......just looking at it I would first say the left hand has a dominant 7th look but the right hand has a minor 3rd making it a Minor 7th chord? but then I see a F(11). I wouldnt know how to write it, hehe
I'm just trying to understand how a chord is named? or does it depend on the context its being played in?
C-G-Bb------Eb-Bb-F

Short answer: It depends on the context.
At first glance it looks like a C-9.

Did you mean C#9?

It looks like a Cmin11 chord. :-\

my bad, I meant to say C minor 11.
C(1) G(5) Bb(m7) Eb(m3) Bb(m7) F(11)
Im thinking in terms of jazz and I like to play the 9th anytime I see an unaltered chord. However, I guess you could make it a rootless C#13b5 chord.
B#(7) G(b5) A#(13) D#(9) A#(13) E#(3)
