Title: Soft Music in Service

Can someone tell me what the musician is doing (like what kind of chords) when playing soft music like when someone is just talking or praying. I new to play

Well you first of all can just use a soft setting like the first 2 white drawbars and just play a song.  Play a hymn or play something soft and melodic.  Nothing special.

Actually,

the trick when playing behind someone during speaking or prayer is just to flow.  Playing a song usually isn't a good thing to do as it takes the focus off what is being said and places it in the song.  you should be more of a backgroud accompaniment to what is taking place.  If you can't just "flow" take a little known song and play it without meter.  That will also work.
