Title: Confused about Midi with the TRITON LE
Post by: Skizo Frene on March 09, 2010, 08:18:28 AM
I'm trying to Midi the sounds from my new Kurzweil to play on the Triton LE at my church, but I'm struggling big time.

Does anybody else use Midi on a Triton LE?  Any advice would be appreciated.

thx.

I'm kinda slow.  Are you trying to use the Kurzweil as a controller to trigger sounds on the Korg or is it the other way around?

Other way around.  I love those Kurzweil Pianos and want to use the Triton as a controller.  (It wasn't your fault.  My first post wasn't too clear.  Sorry.)

I'm not very familiar with the Triton LE.  I'm asuming it has built in USB.  If it does, you may have to go into its system setup and choose MIDI instead of USB.   I know this to be true with the Motif, so Korg may have a similar mode of operation.

I'll check that out next time I'm at the church.  thx.

congrats on the new board! Which one did you get? If you're trying to drive the K from the triton, midi T out to the K midi in.Check to see what channels both boards are set to send/receive.In using midi stuff;it's the little stuff to trip You up!Also, check your volume levels;if you turn the T down,it will cause the K volume to also drop.Since it's an internal command, the K may/may not respond if you move the vol knob.

Kurzweil pc161.  I love the pianos and EPs on that thing!

I was able to get the Kurz to play the Triton sounds, but I can't get it going the other way around!  Quite frustrating.   >:(

I'll most definitely check that out.

I'm kinda late, so I don't know if you've resolved the issue, but I've had the LE for a while, usually if you e-mail Korg with the question, they'll send a pretty detailed and clear response with instructions within about 2-3 days.

I haven't successfully MIDI'd instruments other than the MicroKorg XL through the Triton and it worked automatically, but that's probably because they're both Korg products.  I didn't have to change any settings, it actually automatically layered the sounds from the two until I turned off the volume on the XL.  I tried to MIDI a yamaha mm6 through before and don't think I had much luck, but Korg should get you squared away.
